Nato nel 1860, Thimblewynd è una villetta del periodo C-List trovata nello storico villaggio di Dunning, nel Perthshire. Thimblewynd è diventato un rifugio romantico di lusso con molti vantaggi.

Esperienza appartata nella vasca idromassaggio? Sì. Log Burner? Sì. Gastropub all'angolo? Sì. Negozio del villaggio in fondo alla strada? Sì anche quello.

Abbiamo il coraggio di avere Thimblewynd nella nostra vita e siamo lieti di condividerlo con te.

È un posto che sembra giusto e sono stati fatti enormi investimenti per assicurarsi che abbia tutto ciò di cui una coppia potrebbe aver bisogno per godersi un momento speciale insieme (vasca idromassaggio, caminetto, smart tv, wifi, giradischi, giochi da tavolo ...)

Le recensioni mostrano che mentre gli ospiti godono di un vero senso di solitudine e si allontanano da tutto, godono anche di tutti i comfort della posizione del nostro villaggio. Il negozio locale è incredibilmente ben fornito e situato perfettamente se avessi dimenticato di portare un accessorio quotidiano (o romantico).

Ciò che è particolarmente unico è il nostro giardino recintato recintato. Al sole puoi goderti l'amaca e il barbecue. In Scozia sappiamo tutti che non puoi garantire il tempo, quindi abbiamo installato aree coperte per farti godere lo spazio in ogni caso. La vasca idromassaggio rimane scoperta per farti guardare insieme. È abbastanza speciale.

All'interno, continua a riguardare il lusso e stare insieme. La cucina è completamente equipaggiata. Lo spazio abitativo è accogliente e pieno di cose da fare. Wifi (ovviamente), giochi da tavolo, libri, un giradischi in vinile con LP (o porta il tuo) e Smart TV (collegalo facilmente al tuo account netflix o amazon prime). Il masterizzatore di registro è sempre un successo. Al piano superiore si trova la grande camera da letto, con letto king-size in ottone, finestre con persiane e una splendida vista. Il bagno in camera include doccia a pioggia, asciugamani, accappatoi e prodotti da bagno biologici.

It is a fabulous location, easy to get around. The owner has initially spent money on the property but it’s starting to look tired. Internet is hit & miss, hopefully this is fixed for the next people staying. Backup tv via the aerial is poor - sometimes it has over 100 freeview channels, then it has zero. Not there to watch TV but a bit of news each day is nice. Hot tub is fab but it needs repairing as the inside coating is partly missing. A small washer drier would be a good addition if you need to clean any clothes or even a washing line in the garden so you can hand wash items, then allow it them dry. A blind or curtain at the top of the stairs would be a good, as the sun in the morning goes straight into the bedroom, because of the glass panelled door. The cooker needs a good clean and the door appears to be defective. It doesn’t stay open so you need to hold it down whwn putting in or taking out items . There are no instructions on how to use any of the electrical products at all in the property. The only instructions available are for using the hot tub. The added extras of the straighteners and curling tongs are nice, but the towels are tiny and you’ll need a towel for the hot tub. Communication with the owner was ok but messaged us on day of arrival to suggest marsh mallows for the hot tub, bit short notice! We did have a lovely stay but just feel the place needs a little TLC to bring it back to it’s best.

Amazing atmosphere

The property was very clean, spacious with a lovely garden. The owners were thoughtful, giving us everything we needed and more! A very relaxing stay with my spouse. Would come back!

Perfect Festive Getaway

Working over Christmas we booked this break to get away from all the madness. Just us and the dog. Thimblewynd was just perfect and we loved it. Peaceful and comfy throughout we chilled out in front of thr log burner or in the hot tub, the tv wasn't on once! We eat at the Kirkstyle Inn which was lovely but made ourselves breakfast and snacks in the well equipped kitchen. There was not a single thing we could fault and we loved every minute. Thanks to Maggie for hosting us.

Christmas in Dunning

Such a peaceful and lovely break, loved the wood burning stove, the shower was delightful, despite not such good weather we managed to enjoy the lovely secluded garden, even if we nearly turned ourselves into soup in the Dutch tub, think we were a bit enthusiastic with the fire!We had everything we wanted, loved the selection of games and books and only wished we’d booked for longer!

Amazing stay, great hottub

Had such an amazing time staying here. The whole house is lovely and very well kept. The outdoor seating area was amazing for relaxing outside even when it rained. Loved the hot tub. Would stay here again!

Disapointed

I want to firstly say that this property was as advertised, in a nice village and really pleasant to stay in and did have a hot tub (although it was old and in need of updating, a part of the filter was broken and kept floating about the tub for the 2hrs we spent in it). What let it down for us was that the hot tub stopped working on the first night of our 2 day stay. We had specifically booked Thimblewynd because it advertised a "secluded hot tub" so to have it break on the first night and have no hot tub for the next couple of days was really disappointing. Whilst these things happen, it appeared that the tub was at risk of breaking down after speaking with a source close to the host who came to check it for us on the second day. The host did not contact us after this to acknowledge the tub being broken and almost a week later have still had no contact from her even after going through the site and then directly messaging her. We both came home feeling really deflated and upset after spending around £500 for a break that we ultimately ended up not receiving. I would not recommend Thimblewynd due to the lack of communication from the host after a massive issue which abruptly ended our "secluded hot tub" break. A partial refund would be the correct thing to do here but again, the host has decided to ignore this situation.

Everything you need on your doorstep (pub + shop). Hot tub is wonderful. Cottage although modernised still retained it's aged and quaint feel. Great relaxing stay

Fantastic getaway

Thimblewynd is everything you need for that time away to unwind. The village is friendly, shop and pub just a short walk (2 mins). The garden is full secured, which was fantastic as we have 4 Dachshunds that can find the escape route anywhere. Now the hot tub ....... well what can I say, this certainly made the stay well worth the four hours drive.

Lovely cottage

Lovely charming cottage in good location, with country pub a few steps away and great beer garden. People in the area very welcoming. Cottage was very clean and check in straightforward and helpful. Lovely big bedroom and great en-suite. Garden was secure as advertised which was great for our dog but if I am being picky the garden was a bit tired looking which impacted on the time we wanted to spend in the garden. Hot tub in the garden was fab though.

Relaxing stay

A wonderful week in Dunning. Thimblewynd is a cosy cottage ideal and exactly what we were looking for. The cottage had everything we needed. Dunning is a beautiful location and ideal for long walks with the dog. Great pub at the end of thstreet and a jandy well stocked show. People very friendly and the host attended to any queries we had promptly. The garden and hot tub area could do with a.little TLC as it needs a little work which would improve the lovely private garden.

Lovely cottage,but!

Stayed here with my partner,nice,clean,quaint cottage,back garden a little disheveled looking ,shower wasn’t the best without much hot water and better quality towels would also help.

Amazing wee cottage

When booking this as a surprise trip for my and my girlfriends anniversary and saw it was reviewed as the best in Scotland and it definitely lived up to that name. We loved everything from the monopoly to the garden and the hot tub! What a great trip we had!

Lovely cosy wee cottage

Absolutely loved our few days away here! It was so nice to have so much needed time away and this cosy cottage was perfect! We really enjoyed the hot tub and garden and the record player and loved that we could sign in on the TV to our netflix! Bed super comfy and area fab! Maggie was excellent answering any questions before we went, provided us her number and aswell as helpful directions! Definitely be back! Cassie and James

Perfect mini-moon

My new husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Thimblewynd. The property was immaculately clean and had absolutely everything we needed. We took full advantage of the excellent garden space and the hot tub. We were really impressed with the local amenities and proximity to pub and restaurant. We couldn't recommend this enough, definitely the place to choose if you fancy a change in pace.
