“Property was very quaint, the staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the amenities were appropriate for the property. The pool was small but very nice providing a view of the hills surrounding St. Thomas and overlooking the town itself. It was within walking distance of just about everything that we wanted to see. “Check in staff was not pleasant and we had to wait almost half an hour longer than we were told for our room to be ready. Check in is at 4pm and we didnt get our room until 430. Room had a beautiful view and was pretty clean. Blackouts did not effect the power as they have an onsite generator. Our refrigerator worked most of the time and AC was amazing. The shower had a vroken handle that maintenance was unable to fix. Not a big deal really. It was not close to any beaches, but close...

“Overall loved the location and amenities. Staff was also great. Only issue in our room is it needs a bed/mattress replacement. I felt like I was laying on different levels of plywood. Caused some back discomfort. ”

“The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

“This resort needs to be updated. They want you to re use towels but there’s no place to put the wet towels. Room was not clean, front desk staff was very unfriendly. ”

“I ended up in the same room I was in for Christmas. It was very clean and well stocked with towels and shampoos. Nice big screen tv and cold fridge and freezer. The grounds are older, but well kept up. It's a struggle keeping afloat on the islands and this resort is no different. The staff was excellent and very helpful. I know they would appreciate your support! I've lived on St. John for over 30 years so I know how hard it is to turn a profit here!”

“What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views. The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful! We are planning to return in 2027!”
