Private Entrance, 1-bedroom guesthouse with a queen bed, queen sofa bed, full bath, and dedicated parking. Relax in the bright living room or unwind on your private patio. Ideal for couples, solo travelers, or small families. Located in a quiet neighborhood close to shops, dining, and attractions—everything you need for a comfortable stay! There is NO kitchen access. This space comes equipped with a microwave, fridge, coffee pot, and AC/heating unit.
Owner lives in the main side of the home.

The university is the first fully supported, four year institution for African Americans in the United States and is one of two land-grant colleges in the State of Virginia. The university was founded on March 6, 1882 as the Virginia Normal and College Institute after the state legislature passed a bill sponsored by Delegate Alfred W. Harris, a black attorney, which chartered the university. The state established the university to serve the needs of a population that was at the time excluded from other public institutions in Virginia. From the moment I arrived, I knew this stay was something special. The property is absolutely gorgeous — even more beautiful in person than in the photos. Every detail feels intentional, thoughtfully designed, and immaculately maintained. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel at home, yet still enjoy that elevated, retreat-like experience. Whether it was enjoying the quiet mornings, resting after a long day, or simply sitting in the stillness, this stay provided the perfect environment to relax and recharge.What truly set this experience apart, though, was the host. They are incredibly hospitable, kind, and genuinely attentive. Communication was fast and clear from start to finish. Any question I had was answered promptly, and it was obvious they truly care about their guests’ comfort and experience. This stay came at the perfect time for me and my partner. The guesthouse was clean, cozy, and warm! The neighborhood was very quiet, and it's not far from local business. The surrounding area was beautiful, and the host Denise was very kind and accommodating! We stayed for a week and we loved it!

I had a good time. The amenities are great; it's the perfect size for someone staying alone. The light in the main room was a bit dim, but having the TV on offsets it. Nice patio facing the expansive yard, and about 3-5 minutes from anything you need. Ms. Denise was cordial and easy to communicate with, too. Great stay!

The place was impeccably clean, and considering I'm a germaphobe, that's quite remarkable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, we really appreciated the peaceful countryside location. Would definitely recommend and plan to come back again.
