Baite a Phippsburg

“Not as advertised; teeny. The photos made it look spacious. The front yard was being raked and seeded for grass when we arrived so there were broken branches on our path. The deck, table and chairs had not been cleaned and we're dirty and covered with leaf litter. The room had no comfy chair, only a floor lamp with a bare bulb. No hooks for hanging anything and no coat hangers. We left to find another place to stay and have been promised a refund that has not come through. Very disappointed!”

“The cottage was great but the check-in was very stressful. Owner did not send email with info until Saturday morning and it went to my Spam folder. No one was on site when I first got there but someone working in the garden got hold of the owner and let me in. Website says check-in was after 3PM but owner said it was 5PM. Needs to update that on website. After a10-hour drive I was not happy.”

“The cookware mentioned in the description consisted of one tiny pot with no lid and one frying pan. The "stovetop" was a Coleman gas stove. The refrigerator drained the battery for the generator, so we couldn't use it reliably. We are experienced backwoods campers, so if we had known all of this, we would have brought our own cookset, and food that did not require refrigeration. “The quaint “renovated” cabin I booked (accordingly to the pictures) was not at all what I arrived to. Not even the “cabin” I booked, instead, walked into a room at the crack house complete with multiple cars sans any license plates and broken glass everywhere. Clearly a transient housing authority trying to rip off good people. Would love to show pics of expectations vs reality.
