We stayed at this basement apartment for one night and decided not to stay for the second night because of several issues that made our stay uncomfortable. The biggest problem was the lack of adequate heating. The basement was very cold, and there was no thermostat to control the temperature. A portable heater was provided, but its controls were broken and it did not produce enough heat to keep the room warm. We were also disappointed with the cleanliness. The bathroom and refrigerator did not feel properly cleaned, and some basic amenities, such as hooks to hang towels, were missing. While the photos make the property look modern, in reality it felt like an older house with basic renovations. Sleep was another issue. We experienced loud noise from children running upstairs until around midnight, and throughout the night we could hear a loud air exchanger running continuously, along with plumbing and drainage noises whenever water was used. It was difficult to get a good night's rest. Because of these issues, we contacted Expedia and requested a refund for the unused second night so we could move to another accommodation. Unfortunately, the host did not acknowledge the concerns when Expedia contacted them. We only received a 50% refund for the unused night and still had to spend an additional $150 to book another place. Everyone's expectations are different, but based on our experience, we would not stay here again.
