Charming Antique Country House
This charming house was beautiful and relaxing. It has a beautiful pool to relax in after seeing the sights of Sicilia. The perfect garden for morning coffee or evening wine. It’s listed as a 3 bedroom, but one of the bedrooms is only accessible by a ladder. I think 2 bedroom is more accurate. The managers were very accessible and accommodating. They even noticed that two of us were celebrating our birthdays and surprised us with gifts! The biggest suggestion for this unique and charming place is to have better signage at their gate and more explicit directions. Our navigation failed to direct us accurately. Once you know where it is, it’s easy to find. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 day stay.

Quirky and lovely
We were looking to stay in the Sicilian country to be away from the major tourist towns and this house fit the bill. Eclectic in its decor and furniture, this 300+ year old house is a treat. However, if you choose to walk around the area, we did encounter a few rabid dogs and ended up taking the long way around, having to brave the main road, which doesn't have a proper pavement. Only the main bedroom is air-conditioned and the third bedroom is up a narrow ladder. It was an adventure and we even organised a taxi to and from Pietraperzia. Carmelo is a wonderful and gracious host.

Long weekend in Sicily
We had a great time in this villa. A bit of a drive from Palermo, but a 5 minute drive to a nearby town for groceries etc, otherwise we were content sitting by the pool all day as the house was set up well to allow for this.

Amazing stay
We had an amazing time at this villa. There is a large garden with lots of cozy places to hang out, and the pool was very clean and pretty big. The landlord was super easy to contact and helped us with everything we needed. Really recommend this place! One negative thing is that it was really hot when we were there and only air condition in the master bedroom. But after a few days we got used to it.

A holiday we will never forget.
We had a fantastic stay in the most beautiful surroundings. A house to be experienced and the same with the beautiful surroundings outdoors. The pictures are good, but it is far more beautiful in reality. During our 2 week stay we found many great shopping opportunities nearby which made it easy for us to shop in to enjoy dinners in the house. The house is older but had all what we needed. We loved being there and enjoying all the beautiful nooks and crannies around. And the pool is amazing to use during the hot days! Thanks to Olga and Carmelo, for being super hosts. They are very helpful when you have questions during your stay and we enjoyed our stay… also thank you for the delicious croissants! We will never forget this journey.

The authentic Sicilian villa
Peaceful, charming and restoring. The villa has everything you need to chill out in the middle of this fabulous Italian land. Yes, it’s hot as Hades but the pool will abide and the atmosphere tranquil. There are curiosities everywhere you look and then some. Loved it! Caveats: AC in one bedroom only and no shade by the pool (Mcguyvered with sheets, safety pins and pool tool poles). Pino the cat will welcome you as well. Ciao.

Rustic Authenticity with a Great Pool
Our family used this property in central Sicily as a home base to explore this enchanting island. The house is an authentic Sicilian farm house with unique characteristics preserved to maintain the home's original layout and design. While this may not be the approach to a more modern home, it was a great opportunity to experience rural life of centuries ago. This does not mean that the house is without amenities. The modern pool provided many hours of enjoyment for our family, there is air conditioning in the master suite and a dishwasher. We enjoyed a great family dinner which we were able to cook in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoy in the comfortably cool dining room. Carmelo was responsive and went out of his way to resolve any issues that arose. For example, we lost water one night due to a break in the local municipal water line. By 6 AM, he accompanied a water truck to the property to ensure that the houses water reserves were stocked and we could shower, do dishes, etc . . .

herrliches Anwesen - Sizilien pur
Ein fantastisches Haus, ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen; doch gerade deshalb umso lebendiger. Der Garten ist wunderbar, es gibt immer wieder kleine Stillleben, mal versteckt, mal schon fast völlig zugewachsen, zu entdecken. Ungemein betörend ist der Duft von Rosmarin, Lavendel, Salbei und, und...Der Pool ist grandios... Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet - bei unserer Ankunft haben wir alles vorgefunden, was erstmal gebraucht wird. Auch auf Handtücher etc. hat man immer Zugriff. Wir denken, das ist der Hausherrin auch sehr wichtig. Kurz und gut; wir haben die 2 Wochen hier einfach nur genossen und wünschen daher Olga und Carmelo viel Kraft für den Erhalt dieses herrlichen Fleckens. Frank und Andrea aus Berlin

Toller Aufenthalt auf einer wunderschönen Insel
Das Haus ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet und der Pool verschafft Abkühlung. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das gesamte Anwesen ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Hier und da könnte alles etwas sauberer sein und müsste erneuert werden. Die Poolliegen sind ein Alptraum und die Gartenmöbel sollten auch so sauber gemacht sein, dass man sie nutzen kann. Der Garten ist eine Augenweide und sehr weitläufig aber müsste besser gepflegt werden... insgesamt ist das Objekt aber zu empfehlen.

Unsere Erfahrung
Es ist ein wunderschönes Ferienhaus mit einem zauberhaften Grundstück! Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt. Einziger Minuspunkt ist die Lage, da wir wirklich viel unternommen haben und somit zu jeder Stadt mindestens 1 Stunde fahren mussten. Aber ansonsten ist es absolut weiterzuempfehlen.

Could not recommend enough
Where do I start, this property is an absolute gem. We were a group of 4 that stayed for 8 nights and could not get over how beautiful the villa and property were. The pool area is perfect for soaking up the sun, and the small seated areas around the property give you lots of really cool areas to hang out in. The villa itself has so much space, and Olga & Carmelo were super friendly and easy to deal with. Would 100% come back and stay here again

We hebben genoten van dit paradijs. Als je iets zoekt wat vrij ligt met veel privacy en niet ver weg (met auto) van een dorpje dan is dit de juiste keus. Een heerlijk zwembad, veel terrasjes zowel in de schaduw als in de zon. Beneden is veel ruimte, boven iets minder. 2 slaapkamers. Ja het staat erg vol maar dat vonden wij ook zijn charme hebben. Goede samenwerking met eigenaar en voldoende tips gekregen voor activiteiten in de regio

Dusty interior, large garden, very disappointing experience
Although the house looks nice from the outside and is situated in a large garden, all of the furniture in the garden and especially indoors is old and grubby. One of us has a light dust allergy, which spruced up to very serious inside this house. The rather dark and somehat smelly interior is filled with dusty bric-a-brac, there are layers of dust on the old walls and between the wooden floors of the bedrooms, as well as in and underneath the many old carpets. We cleaned the bedroom for one hour (removing dust from underneath the carpets, from the wall and from the bedside tables), but had a rough night in both of the stuffy bedrooms. We thus decided to leave immediately the next day. The owner's passive-aggresive reaction indicated that we could forget about any partial refund (we had booked 4 nights), even for the cleaning fee, hinting that this might be expected in an old building. However, during our otherwise agreeable stay in Sicily we stayed in different old buildings which were properly cleaned. In an otherwise extremely satisfactory holiday in Sicily, we quickly found a lovely replacement on the coast.

Zauberhaft
Wir waren vier Personen und haben uns aufgrund der guten Bewertungen für dieses Objekt entschieden. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Haus war in einem super Zustand? Alles war sauber und schön ein- bzw. hergerichtet. Die Eigentümerin hat uns anfänglich alles umfassend erklärt und kam jeden Tag vorbei, um sich um den Kamin zu kümmern. Das Haus selber entspricht der Beschreibung aus dem Inserat. Der Garten ist traumhaft, selbst bei “nur” 16°C. Die Küche war mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, um sich fürstlich zu bekochen. Ein Supermarkt ist in 5-10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir waren begeistert und haben das Haus bereits erneut gebucht.

For us a Paradise in Sicily!!
Beautiful house and lovely garden. When we arrived we saw the natural lake was changed to a big swimming pool, which we enjoyed very much. Our kids discovered the garden by making photo treasurehunts and playing hide & seek. All necessary supermarkets close by. Friendly and helpful hosts, thank you to Olga and Carmelo for the sightseeing and restaurant tips. If we decide to travel to Sicily again, we will definetely come back.

In diesem Ferienhaus hat sich ein Künstler verwirklicht. Wir waren nur 4 Nächte dort haben aber jeden Tag etwas Neues auf dem Grundstück entdeckt. Das Haus ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet. Und ohne zutun kann man mit vielen Leuten dort kochen und feiern. Von Geschirr über Handtücher bis zur Musik ist für fast alles gesorgt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns bei den Gastgebern.

Magnifique Villa au cœur de la Sicile
Nous avons profité pendant quinze jours de chaleur étouffante de cette magnifique villa avec ses grands espaces protégés , de son jardin digne d'un jardin botanique et de sa piscine ! La position permet de visiter de nombreux sites proches (1h) tels que villa romane causale, vallée des temples, Agrigente, Enna,, Caltagirone, Cefalu etc...Suracuse, Etna , Taormine sint à 2h de route. Un excellent séjour !

Ausspannen für Individualisten, fernab vom Touristentrubel
Sehr persönlich und individuell eingerichtetes Landhaus mit riesigem Park. Es gibt unzählige gemütliche Plätze. Je nach Jahreszeit, wird jeder einen anderen Lieblingsplatz finden. Ganz neu ist der riesige Pool mit Holz-Sonnendeck. Abends beeindrucken die farbigen Lichteffekte, die per Fernbedienung nach Wunsch gesteuert werden können. Gut ausgestattet und für Selbstversorger bestens geeignet. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe gut erreichbar. Sehr ruhige, ländliche Lage zum ausspannen. Wer Sehenswürdigkeiten und Ausflüge liebt, muss jedoch entsprechend Zeit einplanen, die meisten Ziele liegen 1- 2 Stunden Autofahrt entfernt.

Das Haus und der Garten haben wir sehr genossen.Jeden Tag gab es etwas Neues zu entdecken.Ein Ort in den man Ruhe und Erholung finden kann.Olga und Carmelo als Gastgeber sehr hilfsbereit und zurückhaltend.Unsere Probleme mit dem Gepäck wurden wie von Zauberhand gelöst.Wir kommen bestimmt wieder und werden diese besondere Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.Die 4aus Poznan und Berlin.

A relaxing retreat
A great location for exploring the central part of Sicily, Casa Antica was a lovely oasis. The season was unusually cool but Olga and Carmelo were so welcoming. They laid a fire for us every afternoon so it was very cozy. We found the upstairs loft a little challenging, not for anyone who was not totally fit, and the mattress there was a rather saggy but the other rooms were very comfortable. We also enjoyed having the company of Carolina, a local dog who appears to adopt anyone willing to give her a little belly rub. As 3 of us are dog owners it felt a little more of home. Mille grazie.

Wir haben wunderschöne und entspannte Ferien verbracht.
Das Haus Anticamenta hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Insbesondere im Wohnzimmer mit dem riesigen Kamin haben wir äußerst gemütliche Stunden am Abend verbracht. Auch der große, sehr schön angelegte Park ist ein traumhafter Ort zum Verweilen. Die Hausbesitzer Olga und Carmelo zeichnen sich durch Gastfreundschaft und Großzügigkeit aus. Es war daher eine Freude, bei Ihnen zu Gast zu sein.

Highly recommended
We felt very comfortable in Casa Anticamenta and in the spacious garden, which is absolutely beautiful and magnificent. There are so many wonderful places to relax! All rooms of the house are original, antique-romantic and typical of the country. The house is well maintained and very clean. The kitchen is perfectly equipped, nothing is missing. There is also a very large fireplace, which can warm wonderfully. Olga and Carmelo are very friendly, reliable and helpful landlords. Overall - highly recommended! Not what we expected
This is a beautiful old building with plenty of charm and interesting features. I imagine that it would be more enjoyable in warmer months when dining outdoors would be possible. Due to cool weather, we spent more time indoors and found it to be chilly and not cozy. The house could sleep seven, but I do not think it has the comforts to do so. One challenge is the small amount of hot water available. We were unable to use the lovely bath tub as even after a day of no water use, it would only fill about 6 inches before turning cold. We could have one person shower before hot waiter ran out. Another disappointment was the “bio pool” which is essentially a tarp in a deep hole filled with murky water. It was not swimable as it was low on water. Wild dogs run amok and bark constantly, even through the night, interrupting the peace of the countryside. We did not have any engagement with Olga and Carmelo other than check-in and check-out. All in all it was an interesting experience but ultimately not worth the money.

Das Casa Anticamenta ist ein zauberhaftes Haus. In jeder Ecke findet man Nippes und Tüdelkram, der aber wunderbar zum Ambiente passt. Überall knarrt und quietscht es, aber auch das muss in diesem Haus so sein. Es gibt zwei Badezimmer, was den Aufenthalt für 6 Erwachsene erleichtert. Alle Geräte funktionieren gut und Geschirr und Besteck sind ausreichend da. Der Garten! Der Garten ist eine tolle verwinkelte Oase und man könnte dort eine Woche oder länger an verschiedenen Orten sitzen ohne sich zu wiederholen. Favorite Spot: Schaukel und Hängematte. Die Sicht über die Landschaft ist schön. Das Haus liegt zwischen zwei Orten; Barrafranca und Pietraperzia, so dass es an nichts fehlt. Die Strecken zu den Küsten ziehen sich etwas, auch zu den Wandergebieten fährt man ein Stück, so dass man Reisezeit in jedem Fall mit einplanen sollte. Eins sollte man auf jeden Fall mitbringen: Autan. Die Eigentümer sind zuvorkommend und immer ansprechbar. Ihre Empfehlungen haben wir gerne angenommen und wurden nicht enttäuscht.

Excellent house
What you see is what you get. The pictures on the site are very accurate. The house is very relaxing, authentic and enjoyable with supermarkets and little restaurants very nearby. 3 minus points: - the house is too far located from popular places and cities - my son and I are both 1,90m tall and the shower is far too small for us. - we didn't like the natural pool after trying it and this is a personal opinion. Other people liked it, we didn't unfortunately... - due to exceptional humid weather during our stay, we suffered a lot from mosquitos Otherwise an excellent relaxing holiday location and a very gentle and helpful host Olga. Thank you !

A stunning typical Italian country property
The house is amazing!! It has mod cons but has been refurbished tradionally - the pictures are an accurate representation. The grounds are stunning- huge, with lots of hidden corners, an absolute pleasure. The hosts were lovely and suggested a few trips and were helpful with things like supermarkets and dealing with the power being turned off by the electricity company ( only 1 day, did not spoil things and added to the adventure having candle light). 2 caveats for future bookers. Just be aware the 3rd bedroom and library are accessed via a very steep ladder. Not a problem for us with teenagers but may be an issue. The natural pool sits perfectly in the setting. Have to admit if you are used to traditional clinical holiday pools you may find it a shock to swim with frogs, a turtle and smell pond like after your dip!! Was good to cool off though, just to make you aware of the reality of having this type of pool. The kitchen is very well equipped all you need for your break. It is an absolute hidden gem. I want to buy it and live there forever!! Would love to experience a Christmas there - fingers crossed one day ....... Highly highly recommended

Enchanting and spacious
If you like laminate floors and Ikea furniture then this is not for you. The property and grounds are extremely spacious and totally enchanting. The house is full of antiquities gathered over the years and has a much loved feel to it. We used the pool to cool down and it reaches about 2 metres in depth. The location is excellent with attractions such as Agrigento in the south and Cefalu in the north both being about an hour's drive away, whilst the amazing hilltop town of Enna and the spectacular mosaics at Piazza Armenina are only thirty minutes. Olga & Carmelo were excellent hosts. Strongly recommended for those that prefer their own private space in a wonderfully renovated historic property.

A perfect haven of loveliness and peace
What a wonderful and perfect place to stay. Olga and Carmello are fabulous hosts and are so helpful and keen to share the wonders of their part of Sicilia. The house is well equipped with everything you need. It has the quirkyness of a 300 year old building but essentially is very comfortable and beautifully styled. We particularly loved all the seating and tables around the outside of the house, depending on time of day, temperature and whether to sit in or out of the sun. The extensive gardens are a real wonder and are really very beautiful, with lovely scents of lavender, sage and rosemary, fruit trees, palms, aloes and cacti. Apricots and figs were ripening during our stay and it was good to eat these fresh from the tree. As well as seating areas around the house there are so many different places to sit and relax in the garden, with tables and chairs in so many private spaces, including a hammock and a gazebo with comfy sofas. The garden is also a haven for wildlife. The pool is lovely and a highlight for us was watching a couple of beautiful Bee Eaters swooping over the pool and garden each afternoon of our stay. It was hard to leave after our four nights there. Thank you Olga and Carmello, we hope to come back very soon.

It was breathtaking
Such a lovely property with a beautiful garden. A real experience of Sicilian life. This was made even better when Olga brought a home made lasagne with fresh ingredients round to us. I would love to stay here again

An absolutely amazing paradise
Wir verbrachten ein paar wundervolle Tage in diesem unbeschreiblich schönen Haus, welches mit Liebe zum Detail restauriert und eingerichtet wurde. Jeder Raum und jeder Gegenstand erzählen eine Geschichte und es hat nicht lang gedauert, bis wir uns wie Zuhause gefühlt haben. Fast täglich hatten wir die Möglichkeit in dem schönen großen Garten zu Frühstücken und den Eidechsen beim Sonnen zuzuschauen. Es gibt wohl kaum einen besseren Ort um das wahre Sizilien kennenzulernen! Die Villa ist super ausgestattet, alles war sauber und ordentlich und Olga war regelmäßig da, um den Müll zu leeren und um nach dem Rechten zu schauen bzw. uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite zu stehen. Pietraperzia ist ein guter Punkt um die Insel zu erkunden, da es recht mittig gelegen und verkehrstechnisch gut angebunden ist. Ohne Mietwagen geht es allerdings nicht. Der Abschied aus diesem Paradies fiel uns schwer und wir werden auf jeden Fall noch einmal wiederkommen! A lovely place during the warm period
Lovely house clean and nice in spite of charming rooms with o lot of vintage things. A beatiful garden. The host extremely friendly and helpful. Beatiful landscape. If you like old things and furnitures it is perfect. A bit unpractic for convenient people but we ca really recommend a holiday when it is warm outside.

Ideal place for vacation
This is great place! When you are thinking about historical, beautiful villa in Sicily - it`s exactly what you could imagine. This is lovely house with cosy, historical interiors. Here you can feel, that you are part of this story, because it`s not a artificial interiors - it`s really living interiors! Here you can find so many nice historical or cute elements, then you can imagine. But this not only about the past - the house is well equipped with modern technics! The house is delight! But this accommodation is great not only, because of the house... There is also very wonderful garden, where you can walk for a long time and discover different nice areas... And from the garden you will have nice view on the valley and Petraperzia. Additional benefit is natural swimming pool, where you can cool down during hot summer days! But one of the highlights of the property - are the owners! We stayed many times in different houses over whole Europe, but here was the best service ever! It was even impossible to imagine, that in the renting house can be such a great service! We would like to return to this house one more time! I can fully recommend it for anyone! Thank you very much Olga, Cormelo and Hugo :)

Characterful home stay in central Sicily
Wonderful house and host in central Sicily. A little ramshackle in places but honestly presented in the description and photographs. A beautiful place, inside and out, to spend some time in the Sicilian countryside. But remember to bring plenty of mosquito protections.

Wonderful, beautifully renovated and huge old home- you won’t be disappointed.
O goodness, how glad you are going to be to have stumbled across this gem of a house, it is simply wonderful, and it’s owners kind, caring and available to offer any help you could ever ask for. Photos almost do it justice, but the house is bigger than it appears online, and the reality of the home easily measures up to the fabulous pictures. We have travelled Italy extensively and here on our first trip to Sicily we thought we would escape to the countryside and simply live. The house is perfect for this, extraordinarily renovated, a genuinely artistic and cleverly thought out home with room galore and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. And so much space, this place is hugely well appointed, a huge living room with vaulted ceiling, a lovely indoor dining area for 8-10, and several outdoor seating areas to follow the sun as it wings it’s afternoon journey around the garden before falling every night into a spectacular deep red sunset. And very well located for a number of Sicily’s most alluring historical sights. We stayed as a couple, just the two of us and we were spoiled for space. A brief chat with the owners revealed that this house has more to it than meets the eye. It has been the location for a movie, and has been used in professional photoshoots, and is sometimes used as a wedding reception venue, it’s photos easily found on it’s Facebook page should you need any further convincing https://it-it.facebook.com/casa.anticamenta/ So disappointing then to read the former review on Google of the property just before we arrived. Having stayed at the house just a day after this negative reviewer left, we would like to unequivocally denounce their review as utter, complete crap. Please ignore it and the idiotic perspective which made these comments. This house deserves the unanimous 5 star review which previously existed. This is an old house, with old things, steeped in antiquity and yet with every modern amenity. It is not a Disneyland pastiche or a Hilton Hotel. This is Sicily, it is Europe, it’s full of wonderful old and glorious things of which this is one beautiful example. If you don’t like this type of thing I hear Florida for example is nice, shiny, new and sunny; if you do like this kind of beautifully renovated real seventeenth century country house in it’s wonderful ancient fruit tree laden gardens, and you appreciate real class, culture and the peace of centuries then come here- you’ll absolutely love it
