Beautiful island paradise!
What a wonderful place to spend the week between Christmas and New Years! Once we figured out the flight connections, everything was a breeze. Leslie is a perfect host… helpful but not intrusive. A 30 minute drive from the airport led to seclusion on a beautiful stretch of beach in a well-maintained and stocked house. I am reluctant to recommend only because it might mean that I am unable to book it in the future.

Anniversary Trip
Words nor pictures can begin to describe Sundance or Cat Island! It was our deserted on an island perfect vacation spot. When you park all you see are the trees and shrubs, but when you walk up the sidewalk the view over the hill is breathtaking! The house is perfect, both bedrooms have an amazing view from the bed. The sand was like walking on a cloud, the softest I’ve ever felt. We were there for 4 days and never saw a soul on the beach! It was well equipped with everything we needed. We cooked dinner on the grill a couple nights. Call Ricky Dean for your fishing needs. Tito’s also for fresh lobster. We also stopped one afternoon on the side of the road when we saw local men coming in from fishing and bought fresh conch. Yardies is a must for dinner! Vernon at Alvernia was our favorite guy on the island! He picked us up from the airport, told us where to eat, he took care of us! There is an abandoned church on the same road as Sundance, Leslie’s husband told us to snorkel there, it was beautiful! We also drive west on the road behind the other beach houses, until it ended, and snorkeled there, also beautiful! Leslie, the house manager, was amazing! She answered my hundred messages leading up to the trip and had our drinks and groceries at the house when we arrived. MOSQUITOES MOSQUITOES are the ONLY downfall to the island! We took sawyer repellent and it helped a lot but we still had to fight them. Even walking down the beach at sunset, they were swarming us.

Amazing
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful home for 9 nights. It had everything we needed and more. The architecture of the home and location was amazing. We had the beach to ourselves and the water was perfect most of the time. It was low season so we did most of our own cooking but did get a chance to eat at Hidden Treasure, the food and Trevor were off the charts. You do need a car for exploring and shopping. Leslie stayed in touch with us and answered every question we had. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect place to unwind
We loved spending two weeks at Sundance Beach House. Everything in the house is well planned out - well equipped kitchen, the bedrooms are full of light, with comfortable beds and quiet air conditioners. We especially enjoyed a nice selection of books and playing cards. The house has a lovely breezy deck that overlooks the sea (very convenient for watching kids or just hanging out) and a grill area with screens that help to keep mosquitoes out. The only thing that was not ideal for us (because of young kids) is the fact that the bedroom walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling. This means that there is no sound insulation of any kind. Our kids are light sleepers, and we couldn't watch movies or wash dishes when they went to bed. Everything else though was absolutely perfect! We drove around and agreed that it’s the best beach house on the island, ideal sand, calm waters suitable for little kids, and secluded location. A perfect place to unwind. Be prepared that the food choices are limited, and there is not much to do on the island. We hope we will return.

Best house and beach
We love the Bahamas and love to out islands and explore. Sundance became one of our favorite,The house is Beautiful and very comfortable and the beach is so calm and clear blue. If you live in a big city like us and want escape the hustle and bustle of the city this is your place ! More than we expected
We were totally blown away by everything about the property. Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the setting. The house itself is extremely well laid out and fully stocked, and the property manager was very helpful. We definitely plan on returning.

Absolutely magical!
From our first glimpse of Sundance Beach House, it was more than we could have ever wished for. Perfectly appointed and a view that surpasses anything that can be imagined, 6 days here was not long enough; by the end of the first day, we were already planning a return trip! Note the mail boat schedule (it matters for milk etc. for coffee/tea)-next time we will grab some groceries in Nassau to bring with us, like produce and steaks. Odette at Yardie’s and Trevor at Hidden Treasures-both terrific. The bugs were not bad at all, only a few noticeable right after the rain. Leslie and Ned were wonderful and saved us on more than one occasion (jumped our car, for example!). 98% of the stay, ours were the only footprints on the sand. Peace, quiet, a blanket of stars that words can’t describe….from start to finish, it was the honeymoon we dreamed of, and we can’t wait to go back! ♥️

The perfect relaxing getaway
What a beautiful house and relaxing week . It's our 5th time on cat island and first time at the Sundance house. You are just so close to the beach that you can hear the waves when you sleep. Fully screened doors and windows allow you to have an inside/outside feeling and get a light breeze in the house. House is sparkling clean and you feel welcome and at home immediately. We love the set up with the big kitchen in the middle . My husband cooks a lot and was happy to have everything he needed. House is very quiet and very private. ( that's super important for us). As usual on Pigeon Cay beach we saw less than 10 people walking on the beach during our stay. Beds are very comfortable too. We could not believe how much sleep we got. So relaxing. A specials thank you to Leslie for arranging our stay and leaving us all the privacy we wanted. We will definitively come back to Pigeon for the privacy and the crystal clear turquoise water. We also enjoyed walking every day to Alligator point. It's a bit of a walk ( 4km) but you can go by car too. Thank you for sharing your little paradise with us.

Beautiful Cat Island
This was our 2nd trip to Cat. Stayed in the same house. We felt like it wouldn't be possible to top our 1st trip, but we were wrong! We did lots of snorkeling, swimming, sunset/sunrise watching, beach walks, fishing. Just an amazing place. We are trying to figure out how to make this a 2nd home. We will be back for sure! Now knowing what we know we'd do things slightly different. Get a car in the beginning of the trip and do all our own shopping, which would save money and make sure you get what you want. No complaints here though. Until next time Cat island!

Perfect beach paradise!
My daughter and I had a spectacular relaxing week on Cat Island. I was hoping to really get away and recharge and it's the perfect spot for that. The house is lovely and comfortable and well-appointed - everything you need is there - but the real star is the beach, it's like a beach from a dream! If you're looking for nightlife and lots of nearby restaurants and amenities, this is not the place for you - but if you want to hear no noise but the waves and enjoy solitude in the most beautiful spot imaginable, I can't recommend it highly enough!

Paradise!
This was our second stay at Sundance on Cat Island and it lived up to all of our expectations! We had an amazing vacation! The property is wonderful and the beach and surrounding area is pristine. It is truly paradise! On top of that, the property manager, Leslie, was amazing and was on top of everything. We are already talking about when our third trip will be. Would definitely recommend!

The hidden jewel of Cat Island!
Everything we wanted in a vacation was at this property. The house is a great design and layout, it is newer (4 yrs), yet has a homey feel. But the beach is like a dream. A curved walkway (no steps) leads to white sand and crystal clear water as far as the eye can see. Then to top it off, the hosts were just what we wanted. They helped with all questions were always available yet not checking on us as we like privacy. This vacation was worth every penny. (I am curious as to why the owners don't live here year around!) 😂

Complete Bliss
This Cat Island home is a slice of paradise. The thoughtfully designed house allows you to savor the beautiful beach. I adored the tile in the bathrooms-reminded me of Santa Fe. A very special place and we plan on returning. Also, Leslie, the property manager, is helpful and quick to respond. I do strongly suggest renting a car and exploring.

Exceeded our expectations
Even though we arrived in the off season, the vacation exceeded our expectations. Beautifully situated on an almost private beach and fully stocked for our use. Leslie and Ned were a wealth of knowledge and helped us navigate our way around. While there was not much for our young daughter to do she was able to be occupied in the water and a charted fishing trip. I would definitely recommend Sundance house to anyone looking to unplug and get away.

Sundance house was great! The beach was amazing and very private! The house was very open and clean! The Cat island residents were friendly and welcoming. The bugs were the only negative thing about the entire stay.

Had a great week on Cat. People so friendly/ engaging. Caught numerous bonefish in the “ backyard “ on my on and guided my wife to her first 2 fish. Beach was great and explored some Atlantic side beaches as well. Some restaurants closed for off season so not as many choices but had good conch salad at Yardies and enjoyed Kizzies Cafe. Olives bakery is a much as is hiking to top of Mount Alvernia. Great week

Heaven on Earth
Sundance Beach House truly is Heaven on Earth. (In fact, when our children didn't initially respond to our texts I thought perhaps we didn't make it to our destination and we really were in Heaven! LOL). The location is ideal - steps from the most beautiful stretch of beach - super soft sand and turquois water. Morning coffee on the porch, some yoga stretches on the porch, and then off to soak up sun and float much of the day. The house is perfectly equipped and is designed to take in the gorgeous views, from wherever you are inside. When we were here, we had all that beach to ourselves. This vacation is ideal if you want to temporarily "get away from it all." I never felt so recharged and relaxed. However, be aware this is very remote and there is not a lot of activity and no night life (exactly how we like it). The week we were there most places were closed (perhaps because there was a big election??) Food was scarce, but we got creative - and despite all the Tequila, I lost 3 pounds!! Property managers Leslie and Ned were fantastic and always available. Can't wait to come back to this little slice of paradise. P.S. don't forget the bug spray. I was bitten up pretty badly at night (bugs tend to fancy me), but my husband didn't get one bite.

An amazing quiet week-we had a mile stretch of white sand beach and crystal clear blue water essentially to ourselves due to low volume travel with covid. If you long for a relaxed quiet get away from it all this is for you! Leslie at Pigeon Cay helped us arrange anything we needed -covid testing, car, and finding open places for dinner. Be sure to check in advance what you need for COVID screening to ensure smooth travels

2020 Escape
We stayed at this beautiful property in March 2020, and decided to come back in December to break up the monotony of this strange year. It was just as wonderful the second visit, as it was the first. Ordered takeout from Yardies (delicious barbecue), hiked to The Hermitage, chartered Marlin Adventures and swam/ shore fished. Most beautiful beach we’ve ever seen! Highly recommended 👍🏼

Beautiful, clean beach with gin clear water. House is situated 50-60 steps to the ocean. The house well equipped with everything you need. Nice towels, linens, comfortable beds. House on the beach!
Waking up to the blue ocean right outside your screened in door is amazing. You literally walk onto the beach from your front porch. Great for a private getaway but also fun to rent a car and explore the sites on the island. The tiki hut on our beach was my families favorite spot to sun bath and read all day. Having access to Pigeon Cay Resort is a PLUS!. Bikes, Kayaks, paddle boards, bar and grill are great options. I do recommend you have the kitchen stocked with food and beverages prior to your arrival. We grilled out most nights. Kayak or take a pontoon boat tour of Alligator Point and explore the back bay. You will see lots of sea turtles and nurse sharks if you continue up the flats of the bay. The flights to and from Cat Island via Western Air are not dependable and other options are more expensive but well worth the trip. My family already wants to know when we can go back! Thank you Leslie and Ned for a memorable family vacation.

Beautiful Cat Island!
Where to begin. To start Leslie and Ned were extremely helpful! They will give you suggestions for places to see, eat etc. We didn't leave the house too much except to see the Hermitage, grocery store and lunch. Yardies has car rentals about 5miles away. They delivered a car to the house for us. We walked up and down the beach until there were only rocks. We also went to the inlet behind the house several times to attempt some bone fishing. Unfortunately we didn't see any bone fish but we did some small sharks. There's a beautiful secluded beach about 2 miles north of Sundance house where we did some snorkeling. We saw huge stingray's, a Manta Rey, several beautiful colorful fish. It was absolutely so gorgeous. Its something you see on a calendar. We got several visits and walks in with Yoda Leslie and Ned's dog. Yoda is such a sweetie. We always miss our dog when traveling so having him around was awesome. They live down at Pigeon Cay Resort which they also manage. They typically serve dinner there but weren't as they said it was slow when we were there. Which was fine by us. We stocked well at Gilberts store. It really is a magical place! The locals are extremely friendly and nice. We ate lunch at Da Island Kitchen. Chef Andrew was as kind and as accommodating as they come! His conch fritters were mmm mmm good! Kalik beer!!!! So good. We are beer snobs coming from the PNW and we really loved Kalik. I could go on and on about the place. The house had pretty much everything you need. BRING BUG SPRAY! If you're like me and get mutilated be prepared. I forgot my bug spray and i can't use anything with deet. They come in the evening if there's no breeze. They are tiny so you can barely ever see them. The only negative of our trip was dealing with Western Air. If possible book with anyone else. Makers Air leaves from Ft. Lauderdale and is chartered but the price isn't too bad. Western changed our flight times 4 days before we left. Luckily Leslie got it changed back. (Although they were 45mins late leaving) We met travelers that didn't know and had to stay in Nassau a night. Also they changed our flight leaving Cat form 850am to 1050am without notifying us. It would have been ok if they weren't 1.5-2 hours late. Inturn we had to purchase all new flights and were flying for 28+ hours to get back home.

We’ll be back next year.
The house location on the beach was exactly what we were looking for and it did not disappoint. Lovely decor, fabulously stocked kitchen and wonderful covered deck with gorgeous views. The WiFi didn’t work well and the house phone wasn’t working either so you may want to consider buying cell coverage from your carrier for your stay. Both my husband and I are self-employed so we had that in place already. You definitely need a car so plan to add that to your budget at $400 per week. Food is very expensive, with limited options since most everything has to arrive by boat. We decided to try two weeks next winter to give us more time to explore the island AND relax on the beach.

Dream come true for us
We loved Sundance House! I had always dreamed of walking out of a cottage or cabin right into the sand and walking on the beach for hours. I got my dream come true! It's a magical spot. Those who are used to all-inclusive resorts may not like Cat Island, which is very rural, but we loved it. Leslie is one of the nicest, kindest people in the world--thank you for everything, Leslie!

A beautiful, relaxing paradise
Where to begin. The Sundance house is perfect! My husband and I spent 6 nights here in early August. The house is perfectly equipped with everything you need. You could stay for days without seeing a single person if you didn't want to. The beach in front is flawless, so clean with crystal clear water. We did use the paddle boards and kayaks that are available for use at the neighboring resort which added some sport to the day. The Sundance house is located almost perfectly in the middle of the island. Cat Island is such a calm, remote, not commercial place. A trip here is not for anyone who expects drinks and gourmet food on tap. Because of the slow season it is actually rather had to even get a cooked meal. So stock up at Gilberts grocery store and cook for yourself, enjoy a meal with a spectacular view. We explored all parts of the island thanks in part to Leslie's info book. We made it a point to go to all places that she mentions. Everyone raves about Yoda the property dog, and he is a treat. He loves attention and joins in on any water sports. Overall Sundance House is a perfect place to unwind and explore a beautiful island. You will not be disappointed.

A very relaxing break!
We have just returned from a 17 night break at Sundance House; it was amazing! The house is very well equipped and comfortable. The beach is stunning and the swimming is fantastic as the water is crystal clear and the sea bed is very sandy. Snorkelling was great at the left end of the beach near the old church. We had many romantic strolls along the beach and we also made use of the kayaks from Pigeon Cay resort. The hermitage is a must see as is man of war point, although the walk to this stunning beach is not for the feint hearted as it takes 40 minutes and is steep in places. We had great food and Bahama Momma's at Shannas Cove and great conch fritters at Yardies. The only downside was the bugs, which generally attack in the evening but also during the day when the wind drops. So be prepared! The island is very quiet with very few shops or bars but if you are looking for a peaceful break this is ideal.

Perfect Beach House!
This is the most functional beach house I've ever rented, and it's as beach front as you can get. Like Robinson Crusoe with amenites! A perfect beach, a full kitchen, and a/c in the bedrooms. Views from the deck and bedroom were awesome. Very clean and well maintained. The water was always calm, and the two mile beach almost always deserted. If you like solitude, self catering, and just love being on a beautiful beach, this is for you!

Breathtakingly beautiful!
This place is exactly how it is described. Absolutely perfect if you want to get away from it all! We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed every minute.

Relaxation Perfection!
This house is the perfect spot on the perfect quiet beach. The only sounds that you will hear are the waves crashing outside your windows and screen doors. The house is perfectly set up with everything you will need such as beach towels, kitchen items, linens, etc. My family of 4 was happy and comfortable all week. Fishing and snorkeling are walking distance away. It's also great to have the Pigeon Cay Resort two doors down so that you can use their paddle boards, kayaks, bikes, and even have dinner! Sand like baby powder and water clear and turquoise. We will be back again someday :)

Beautiful House on the beach
Sundance Beach House is situated in a private area on the island. The beach in front of the house is awesome. The house is very well appointed, in fact we couldn't believe how clean, well maintained and cared for the home is (thank you Leslie). The kitchen has all the amenities that you would need - we weren't missing anything while vacationing. The bedrooms overlooks the beach and it sleep well with the sound of the ocean. But our absolute favorite part of the home is the patio/deck that overlooks the ocean and beach! The house is the perfect place to relax, either on the deck or down on the white sand beach. We would love to stay here again and highly recommend Sundance Beach House.

The most beautiful, peaceful, private beach setting ever!
We just spent 7 wonderful days at Sundance. Had never been to Cat Island before and really loved the tranquility and laid back feeling. Everybody is incredible friendly and helpful. Great location on an unbelievably beautiful beach. The house is perfect and had everything we needed, beach chairs, floats, cooler bag, hammock, even a French press for coffee. Bring cash because a lot of the local places only took cash. We had a great dinner next door at Pigeon Cay and also at Shanna’s Cove. Highly recommend for someone looking to get away from it all and enjoys an adventure!
