THIS HOTEL IS A SCAM!!!! Nothing like the pictures, rooms are dirty, overpriced food, the staff communication sucks, they tell you 5 different things, I stayed here with my family my husband and 2 boys, one 7 years old and the other 10 months old, I wanted breakfast and they tell us we have to get room service at 11am we waited from 9am-11 to order, when we called they said kitchen was closed and that they didn’t have breakfast because they were only serving lunch, by then my kids were starving and crying because they staff have no idea what they’re saying, that wasn’t our first complaint, that night when I arrived to the hotel the room they gave me was DIRTY! Bedsheet DIRTY! Bathroom dirty, mirrors dirty, the couch where my son was supposed to sleep on DIRTY, I wish I can upload the pictures to aware people of where they’re staying!! This place is not safe at all. I am very confused of how this hotel have 8.8 excellent reviews when it’s definitely trash!! I stayed one night and they penalized me because I did early checkout by charging me for 2 nights. They didn’t have any empathy and didn’t seem to care about me or my kids being uncomfortable didn’t offer to resolve the problem and also gave a hard time checking me out by saying I may have to pay for the whole week even if I leave early.. Eduardo at front desk, tried to say that my husband was lying about the what it looked like bedbug bites. This was all in just ONE NIGHT! Just imagine staying here for 5 nights. NIGHTMARE!

Cons - super slow elevators and rooftop main pool never had open lounges. PROS - a block from 5th ave, less than 2 blocks from ADO station, one of the few hotels with decent size infinity pool and rooftop hot tub.

My husband, son and I stayed at The Fives downtown Playa Del Carmen for a week. This hotel and service provided was beyond our expectations. A huge thank you to Otavio and Renzo who ensured our stay was perfect, starting with communication before our arrival and throughout our visit, and I had the privilege to meet both of them. Everyone we met were wonderful. All were very warm and welcoming, and efficient..this hotel is extremely well run. Our two bedroom suite was very large, with beautiful balconies, view of the ocean, perfect temperature control, included everything we needed, and cleaned every day. And the roof top was spectacular! Beautiful pools with breathtaking ocean views!! I can’t thank Otavio, Renzo and everyone enough for our perfect stay and look forward to returning. Donna

I found the hotel quite good. The staff were great and any concerns we had were addressed immediately. Even the cleaning staff were friendly. We had b beautiful room. The roof top pool is beautiful and overlooks the ocean. Our main complaint was the bar that was just down the street. The bar has an open roof top bar that played horrible live music til 3AM. To say the music was horrible might be an understatement. This bar is likely ruining the lives of hundreds of people. We were on vacation, I can't imagine the poor people who live near the place.

My only complaint is that I stayed in a residential unit with a kitchen that wasn’t equipped, i.e. no utensils, plates, pots and pans, etc., so couldn’t cook any meals.

The location of this property is great for shopping and nightlife. It’s close to the Cozumel ferry which is also a bonus. The whirlpool tub is a jetted tub on the deck, we were expecting a hot tub but ended up enjoying the jetted tub but it is small. Barely fits 2 people. The room was a good size but a little run down. Sliding pocket doors very hard to close, but has to be closed at night because of a lose window and whistling wind all night. Shower door leaks water all over the floor. The drinks are weak at the pool bar and the restaurant downstairs. The drinks are also $20-$22 USD so I’d expect to taste the booze. Food was bland at the pool bar and downstairs restaurant. Check in & out we’re good.

The location is the best. Less than 5 minutes walk to ADO station without taking the taxi and 1 block to 5th Ave. It's in the heart of Playa Del Carmen. No need to take a taxi anywhere.

I was assigned a room at the 4th floor. I’ve later found out that there was a bar at the 5th floor. It was extremely noisy until 12:00 pm; there were so much screaming and scratching noise from moving chairs. The fives hotel should not offer a room like this to its customers. It was so noisy that I had to sleep with noise cancelling ear phones on. I am not going back to the fives hotel again. This hotel should not be a part of Hilton honors.

In general, all good. Two issues, 1) one of the room we had, shower no hot water, later it was repaired, but it was working reversely as it supposed to. 2) from the 2nd day, one of two elevators was out of service ... Then u know the wait since .... :(. Other than that, good value in general.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Hotel hat eine gute und sehr zentrale Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Avenida 5, der Haupteinkaufsstraße. Entsprechend kann es allerdings auch etwas lauter sein am späten Abend und Nachts. Zum Strand sind es ebenfalls nur wenige Gehminuten. Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und verfügen über gutes Wlan und viel Platz. Pool auf Dach ist super.

Great Location, Comfortable Stay
The Fives was a great choice for our stay in Playa del Carmen. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room spacious, clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool were fun (awesome view) and I loved the courtyard critters : ) Finally, you could not have a better location, we walked everywhere. Recommend. Thank you to Karla and Rolando - our special hosts!

La habitacion que nos dieron estaba en el ultimo piso y tuvimos ruido de la musica del roof garden en la noche y en el dia ruido del tránsito de la gente, habitavion tenia olor a humedad, la regadera de telefono no servia, el pasillo con las paredes con humedad.

The property did not have our room ready when we arrived. They said 1/2 hour, no problem. We went to the restaurant ate had drinks, 1/12 glhour later still no room. It took another 45 minutes to get the room, Then it was not the class of room we booked and paid for. It was supposed to be a superior room large 2 sink bathroom. When I went to the desk I was told we had 2 sinks lol, ahhh no they put us in the deluxe type and refused to admit it was not what we paid and the manager seriously was a jerk….

Great hotel
There was a room issue but hotel staff went above and beyond to correct mistake. Mistake was corrected next morning. Very appreciative as they could have just ignored us. Will definetely stay at the Fives Downtown again.
