“While we were only there for one night it was a treat to be able to have gotten one of the few rooms within the castle itself. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and they were very accommodating to my husband's dietary limitations. The only thing they forgot was having my bear knight and chocolates ready in my room but that's just a minor thing and I did ask for it just the day before so not a big deal once I asked.”

“Staff were brilliant
I have had breakfast before and fantastic plenty to eat
Bar. And outside area great lots of room
Sad to say it all needs updating up stairs.
All bathrooms need updating and decor and carpets need gone.
Definitely the WiFi needs sorting out so you can get on it when you are in your room
I wanted to chill out and watch Netflix but no internet
Apart from that always a lovely stay and they accept dogs which is fab”

“No evening meal due to chef needing time off, staff seemed to have no idea what was happening. Only food available in the area was pizza at a hostel across the road.
Breakfast room opened at 8:30 and consisted of help yourself Coco pops, croissants or toast, if you had an early start, nothing.
Overall a very poor experience.”

“The place is an ancient inn in a wonderful spot of the countryside. Perfect for trips along Hadrian's wall or nice walks in the fields. No restaurants in the area except the inn's one, where it's possibile to eat until 8.30 pm. Excellent beer until late.
The toilet area is really tiny, but the rooms are lovely.”
