I found Amazing Grace while contemplating a last minute detour in our holiday travels from Houston to Lafayette and could not have been happier. The house was the perfect size for my husband and me, but it would work for a larger family/group too. The kitchen, living room, bedrooms & bathrooms were adequately sized and the convenience of a washer/dryer was a plus. The indoor dining area was really tight & should be reconfigured; the furniture is way too big. With that said, the kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc, but was lacking various condiments or supplies that have been provided in other vacation rentals that we’ve stayed at, but we knew that going in & came prepared...salt, pepper, misc. spices, sugar, olive oil, ground coffee...just to name a few.Although I was surprised but not surprised, the house lacked any extra blankets/throws for the early mornings / late nights sitting on the deck, but I completely understand that other guests might take them to the beach or home with them, so we just dressed accordingly. But if you have the abilities to pack such things, do it.The overall experience from my initial inquiry (Stephanie) to executing the contract (Kylie) to checking in/out (sorry, I didn’t get any of the ladies’ names) and of course, our stay at Amazing Grace, completely overrides anything the house was “lacking”. My husband is a creature of habit, so getting him to switch from a hotel to a vacation rental has been a work in progress, but he was thrilled with our “detour” and wanted to know when we’d be going back...now, that’s what I call a success!
