A century-old Portland house with four bedrooms across two floors, so a group of 10 isn't on top of each other.
Main floor: two queen bedrooms, the living room with a TV, and the kitchen with a dining table for the whole group.
Upstairs: two more bedrooms, one with a queen and one with two queens, and its own mini-split on top of the central heat and AC, so the top floor never runs hotter than the rest of the house.
Two full bathrooms with updated showers. Washer and dryer in the basement, Wi-Fi measured at 851 Mbps, a front porch and a fenced backyard.
The whole house is yours, with a keypad smart lock on the front door. Your code comes through before arrival and works from check-in time. Bags can be left inside from noon on arrival day.
Check-in is self-guided, so you can arrive on your own schedule. I'm a message away whenever you need anything during your stay.
Alberta Street is one block north. At this west end you've got Natural Grocers with the Cason's Fine Meats counter inside (2 minutes) and Alberta Street Pub for live music and a covered patio (about 10). The main Alberta Arts stretch, roughly NE 15th to 30th, is a 15-minute walk: Case Study Coffee, Tin Shed for brunch, Bollywood Theater for Indian street food, Salt & Straw on the way home. The Piedmont Station food cart pod is 8 minutes the other way, and Peninsula Park's rose garden about 20.
Parking is on the street, free and unrestricted, and guests never seem to have trouble finding a spot in front. There is no garage or driveway for guests.
The 6 bus on MLK is two minutes away and runs to downtown. The 72 on Killingsworth connects east. The MAX Yellow Line at N Killingsworth is about a 20-minute walk. By car, PDX airport is around 17 minutes and downtown 20 to 25. Flat streets and bike lanes everywhere.
This is a 100-year-old house kept simple, not a new build: expect character and the odd creak rather than a hotel finish. Two full bathrooms for 10 means a bit of coordination in the morning. Towels are provided. Washcloths aren't, so bring your own if you use them.
We're on a close-knit block. Anything resembling a party gets reported and shut down, and the booking ends there, including "just a few friends over."
