“Everything about our stay was excellent. The accommodation was warm, spotlessly clean and the twin beds very comfortable. The room itself was the smallest in the house but we found it more than adequate and were very happy with the space. Our hosts were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome. “I had a good stay at the Castle Hotel. Lovely little hotel, super comfy bed and gorgeous bed linen. The room was spotless and generous tea and coffee making facilities. Nice bathroom products. No A/C as it's a beautiful old building, but that was fine as was able to open windows and control the radiator. I didn't have a cooked breakfast but buffet options were fine and the other guests seemed to be enjoying their cooked food. I will stay again, thank you.”

“Great overnight stay in a Superior Suite. Tastefully Decorated. Nice ensuite bathroom with lovely large shower. Bedroom has a Comfortable bed, which was very high up if you're not that tall :) & a tv. Separate room with Leather settee & a tv. Good space for a Couple. Clean through out. Continental Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. Staff very nice & pleasant. Location Excellent with a carpark on its doorstep. Highly recommend. We would definitely return again.”

“I had stayed here previously a few years ago and was surprised to find how run down this hotel was. The layout of reception etc… had changed now requiring going up and down lots of stairs. Our beds had seen better days. The paint was peeling off our bathroom door and the television unit. The shower was freezing and shot water all over the bathroom floor. Breakfast was welcome to the 70’s era. Stale cornflakes and tinned mandarins. My husband ordered Eggs Benedict off the made to order menu and...

“The clean and well equipped rooms are in a separate building to the pub itself so there are no food smells or customer noise. The setting is lovely with walks and the marina nearby. There is plenty of parking (free). All in all, great value for money.”
