Our stay at Palace Rocco could not have been any more amazing! My husband and I stayed here with 8 other family members in early April 2016 for our wedding. From the start, Francesca - the contact for the property, and Valerio - the owner, were excellent in coordinating our stay and also graciously provided local contacts to arrange our wedding and a catered dinner at the villa.
1) The Villa: Palace Rocco has seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms and has been stunningly remodeled. The villa was large enough for all 10 of us to feel like we had enough space, but still allowed us to gather and spend the nights celebrating our wedding with our other guests. The 3 rooms of Sun Shining have been most recently remodeled, and truly make you feel like you are staying in a Palace. The views from all the rooms and patios were breathtaking, and the main patio of Sun Shining was large enough for our entire wedding party to gather and spend the evening. Waking up every morning to the breezes and views of the Mediterranean through the large windows of our room was incredible. Check-in and checkout could not have been easier, as the property manager, Luca, was waiting at the top of the path to lead us to the villa and provide a tour when we arrived.
2) Our Wedding: We do not speak Italian and had never been to Praiano, so we were unsure of how to arrange for a church, translator and caterers for our wedding. Without any hesitation, Valerio and Fancesca put us into contact with a translator and church in Praiano and arranged for an amazing dinner and cocktail party at the Villa itself for our 15 guests after the ceremony (including local musicians playing the mandolin and guitar!). The catered dinner was one of the best meals we ate in Italy, and our English-speaking waiter, Mario, even invited my husband and I into his home when he saw us walking around the village the next day. It was truly like a dream.
3) Praiano: In our opinion, Praiano is the perfect town to stay in on the Amalfi Coast. It is near enough to other towns on the coast to easily make day-trips, but is more authentic and laid-back than the tourist-focused Positano. The Costa Diva restaurant with terraced Lemon Groves is located just steps below the villa, and an Italian Bistro with amazing views of the coast is located just up the hill. As a bonus, almost every restaurant we ate at in the village insisted on a complimentary Limoncello before leaving. We look forward to staying here again!
