Riverfront Cabin Inside New River Gorge National Park & Preserve w/h New Manager

Under New Management.
Newly remodeled 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom Cabin located on the New River inside the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve with views of the New River & the mountains. The Master Suite comes with Queen Size Bed made by the Amish. The Second bedroom has two twin beds and the third bedroom has a full size bed with antique wardrobe .Cabin comes complete with Free Firewood, Fully Stocked Kitchen, Wifi, Washer & Dryer, Linens, and basic household needs. Check in process is a breeze with keyless entry. No Check-out list upon departure. Manager can always be reached by text. Grannys is located in a private residential area of the New River Gorge National Park. Park Rangers offer safety and security to the community. Park Rangers have expert knowledge on local history, culture, local fauna & flora and more! Talking with a Park Ranger will give you a chance to discover local hidden gems. A convenient amenity provided by the National Park Services: Public boat launch ramps. These ramps provided easy access to the New River for rafting, floating, fishing etc.. You can float to our location and various locations along the New River. We have riverfront access.
Grannys is a quick drive to Beckley, Fayetteville, Babcock State Park, Tamarack Artisan Center, New River Gorge Bridge , Mountain Biking Trails, rock climbing and repelling, hunting and some of the best fishing in the Eastern portion of the US. Plus so much more!!!

Great cabin, awesome location within the National Park on the bank of New River. The cabin is well maintained and loved the deck right by the river. I would have given it 5 stars, but we had an issue where the WiFi went out the first night and we were not able to get in touch with the host.

We did not stay more than 1 hour. The cabin wasn’t ready, or someone was already staying there. Clothes all over the place, dishes and food in the kitchen, beds slept in and not made. Towels on the floor in the bathroom, bathroom and kitchen dirty

We loved the property with its beautiful view of the river and generous porch to enjoy it from. Everything we needed was there. Our only issues which believe are location related, were that the internet only works on occasion and there is no cell service. Otherwise a great place in a great location

We were really looking forward to this

I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I can't in good conscience ignore that the host canceled our booking the morning of the day we were to check in. I received the cancelation notice before I received messaging from the host, and no offer for assistance re: Alternate options, just "sorry for the inconvenience." We were fortunate to be able to book a hotel room for the duration of our planned stay, but we had perishable foods and such that were not conducive to that type of residence.I want to emphasize I don't blame the host for needing to cancel...if something is wrong with the residence, then I get it. But the communication (lack thereof, and not timely) was really unfortunate.

Wish we could have stayed

There was no communication with the host. Infact vrbo refunded our money after vrbo attempted to contact the host and they also did not get a response. Very disappointing. Should this property even be listed?

Lovely little place

This cabin was a lovely little place to spend a few days exploring the surrounding park and activities. The setting was picturesque with the river so close. Luckily, some of the best hiking is very near the cabin (Glen Creek Area), but the other hiking areas are about 30 minutes away and all the best restaurants are in Fayetteville. Since the park is so spread out along the New River, you can't be close to everything, so this was fine for us. The cabin was clean as can be. The shower temp varied between scalding and cold, and we asked the owner about it and he gave us a few tips to keep the water temp consistent the entire shower.

What an absolute beautiful place to stay! Our grandkids from Florida wanted to see snow. This place became available and I'm beyond thrilled every thing turned out as it should! Not a bad drive to the Ski resort. We loved it all! Super clean and fully stocked! Looking forward to future stays! Joe was great!!

Granny’s Place

Very nicely remodeled property right on New River and close to several sections of National a park for hiking. Had everything we needed for peaceful weekend. Rafting was out for us this weekend due to very high waters.

Lovely New River Central Location Home Base

This location was the perfect home base for us as we explored the New River Gorge National Park. Mornings and evening were spent sitting on the lovely porch listening to the river while we drank our coffee or cocktails. The cabin was really nice and comfortable. Like others mentioned there is no cell service and spotty WiFi but that was perfect for us since we all disconnected from our addictive rectangles. Just a heads up to bring a jug of water for the coffee maker in case like us you stop at the store before checking in. Oh and it was an honor to learn the history of Granny Tabor!

Wonderful experience

This site is simply amazing. Clean, out of the way, and beautiful setting. The communication with the host was amazing! He was responsive, knew the area well, and offered many helpful suggestions about the area (like the hidden beach down the road). He went way above and beyond making sure our stay was perfect. I have read some reviews about the Wifi; no, there is no cell reception, as you are on top of a mountain! But the Wifi hotbox worked just fine! We had a wonderful time, and created great memories.

Amazing Cabin in the New River Gorge National Park

This place is amazing. Waking up to the sound of the river rushing over the rapids was heavenly. It's conveniently located inside the park. Hiking, fishing, rafting, anything you're interested in doing is close by.

Great stay

We loved the location. The only bad thing was the driveway was too steep to park on so you have to park at the bottom and carry everything up when you get there and down when you leave. The house was great and the views are even better.
