Disturbing and Unacceptable Experience – Evicted, Monitored, and Harassed
While the house was well-maintained and comfortable, my stay was deeply distressing due to the Host’s conduct.The Host sent intrusive messages, admitting he’d remotely turned off the heating after seeing my son and me leave, using surveillance cameras in a way that breaches Stayz policy (devices should only be used for security).Matters escalated when my partner surprised me with a visit. Instead of handling it professionally, the Host accused me of dishonesty for not listing a second adult and sent humiliating messages like: “This is embarrassing for you I’m sure to be found out.” He’d observed my partner arriving via cameras, again breaching policy.He threatened: “You need to do this before 3pm if you want to retain access.” Though I agreed to pay 65 extra per night, he later demanded 100, claiming he didn’t like my tone.When I refused, the Host evicted me and my 6-year-old son at 9am, forcing us to leave two days early and pay for a hotel. He later admitted the 100 demand was wrong.No guest should face surveillance, threats, or harassment. Stayz must urgently review whether this Host should remain on the platform.Despite the property’s quality, I absolutely cannot recommend this property or this Host.
