“I was met by the owner Passi who was waiting for me. I had booked into one of the apartments but wes told that I was staying in one of the cottages by the lake. Passi took me to the cottage which has its own wood burning sauna and stunning views looking out to Lake Orivesi. It was really peaceful and it has its own private beach and a rowing boat plus a swing which I must admit I spent quite a bit of time on there. The centre of Kitee is about 20 minutes away in a car so if like me you do not...

“La casa era tal cual la describían. La construcción es moderna, todo en madera. Muy cuidada y limpia. Tiene calefacción, chimenea, sauna, barbacoa e incluso lavavajillas...que más se puede pedir. El propietario muy amable a pesar de no hablar inglés, su mujer si hablaba. En el jardín hay un lago que probamos bañándonos después de la sauna. Tiene todas las comodidades, solo le falta el wifi. Muy adecuada para visitar Savolinna, Kholi, Heinavesi, Joensuu y en general Carelia del Norte con sus...

“Beautiful cottage, very charming. Nice big kitchen, old stove. Beds were comfy. Jouni (host) was very reponsive and helpful. 10 min to Joensuu. We liked it!”
