My Dad's Log Cabin
Welcome to Our Family Cabin—Where Stories Live and New Memories Begin
This isn’t just a log cabin—it’s a legacy.
My father built this home after serving in the Vietnam War and retiring from a career with the Secret Service. He came back to his roots with a simple vision: peace, space, and a place where family could gather, laugh, and just be. After his passing, I couldn’t think of a better way to honor him than to share this special place with others.
So here you are—welcome to the family.
Set on 2 acres of open land and surrounded by 5 acres of quiet forest, this cabin is equal parts retreat and playground. We’ve added a few modern touches, but kept his spirit alive—warm, welcoming, and always ready for a good time. Think of it less like a rental and more like borrowing a well-loved home (with a few snacks probably still in the pantry).
Whether you’re here to unplug, reconnect, or just escape your group chat for a weekend, this space is made for it.
Within Radford and about a 45-mile radius, you’ve got options:
Outdoor Adventures
• Hike and explore the scenic trails at Claytor Lake State Park
• Kayak, boat, or fish on New River (one of the oldest rivers in the world—yes,
older than your favorite family stories)
• Visit Cascades Falls for a waterfall hike that’s worth every step
• Take in mountain views along the Blue Ridge Parkway
Local Flavor & Fun
• Explore downtown Radford for casual dining and small-town charm
• Catch a game or stroll campus at Radford University
• Take a short drive to Blacksburg—home of Virginia Tech—for great food,
