When it comes to wow-factor locations, this cottage delivers on every level. Nestled into Raglan’s premier Rose St hillside, Tawatahi Cottage is quaint and unassuming, but this hidden gem is sure to surprise and delight. With uninterrupted panoramic water views, sun-drenched living area & a relaxed, inviting interior, this cottage provides an idyllic solo retreat or couples’ escape for those looking for some blissful time out.

Inside this cute and quirky cottage, the pared-back coastal theme, with cool whites and calm oceanside blues create a light-filled, cosy and intimate space, the perfect spot for reading a book or simply admiring the stunning views. The large corner lounge suite provides the comfiest of places to kick back and watch the ever-changing kiwi weathers as they roll across the ocean. And on those hot summers days, throw open the french doors to enjoy your extended living and outdoor entertaining space.

The fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, stovetop and fridge/freezer looks across the open plan dining and living room with an indoor dining table that can seat up to 4 people. Or take advantage of the generous, elevated deck with solid wood dining table and enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner with ocean vistas as your backdrop.

There are two good sized bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, bedside tables, night reading lights and 4 drawers tallboy so you can unpack and settle in as if you were right at home.

The toilet is a `cottage type` room that is inside the house, but has a `rustic outhouse feel` with corrugate iron walls and a sliding door for privacy.

Please note that the clawfoot bath is currently out of order for use as a bath, it is shower only.

Please note that the Master bedroom is accessed via the Queen bedroom, but has its own door and can be closed off for privacy.

You will have access to the entire house - all bedrooms, bathroom, living room, kitchen and outdoor area.

Perfectly located for a 5 minute wander down to the Wharf Waterfront where you can peruse the boutique retail stores, enjoy a beverage at The Wharf Cafe, pick up your evening fish & chips or jump aboard the Wahine Moe sunset cruise in summer.

Raglan has something for everyone. And this home is ideally located to explore the local area.

Surfers will love the big waves at world-famous Manu Bay. Nearby Cox Bay and Lorenzen Bay are great spots for swimming, kayaking and body boarding or just relaxing in the sunshine. You may even get lucky and spot one of the orcas that regularly come to visit the bays.

Also on offer in Raglan is fantastic bushwalking, golf, mini putt and, of course, plenty of fishing.

The vibrant café and arts scene in Raglan township is just a short drive away. There’s a wealth of delicious dining options to choose from, along with specialist arts and crafts shops to explore. Also within easy reach are the supermarket and shopping facilities.

Do as much or as little as you want – the choice is yours. Raglan is a fantastic holiday destination any time of year.

Due to the natural settling of the home`s piles over time, some of the floors have a slope. This is a common characteristic of older properties and does not affect the structural integrity of the home. The house has been thoroughly assessed and deemed safe for guests by a qualified builder.

Please note there is a large step up to the bedrooms and step up into the laundry and toilet area so this property wouldn’t be suitable for those that require a level entry. The shower is over a claw foot bath, so again not ideal for those that need a level entry.

The quirky cottage vibes are continued with the slanting floors in all the rooms.

There is parking for 1 car only in the driveway/carport, so we do recommend driving together if possible. Please note that the carport/driveway is quite steep and small so not suitable for vehicles with low clearance or tall vehicles. An additional car can sit on the grass verge just past the driveway, on left, but this park often gets taken by the public during the busy summer months.

Guest stays longer than 5 nights will be provided with additional bathroom linen for use during your stay.

For reservations longer than 10 days, on request, additional bed linen can be provided for you to change at your convenience. Our team will collect any dirty linen at a mutually agreed time.

All reservations include an end of stay cleaning fee. Sufficient cleaning products and equipment will be available at the property for use during your stay should you need it. We do not offer mid-stay cleaning services unless this has been pre-arranged at the time of booking and we have capacity in our cleaning schedule to book this in. All additional cleaning services including mid-stay bed making will incur additional costs.

The Smart TV is internet based apps only which you require your own log in details for - Netflix, Neon, You Tube, On Demand etc.

Strictly no smoking indoors. If you smoke outdoors, please do so responsibly and remove butts from the property on departure.

Tawatahi Cottage is located in a residential area - please no excessive noise. A noise curfew is in place between 10pm and 9am.

A BBQ is available for use during your stay. Please clean with the appropriate supplied cleaner after use. We reserve the right to charge for additional cleaning if the BBQ is found dirty.

Rubbish - an allowance has been made for 1x full blue rubbish bag. Additional rubbish must be taken with you or dropped at a local refuse disposal station (details in house info folder) or an additional charge of $25 per bag will be applied for disposal.

Recycling - an allowance for 1x full recycling bin has been made per stay. Additional recycling must be taken with you or an additional charge of $25 per box will be applied for disposal.

Electric Vehicle Charging- We are unable to accommodate electrical vehicle charging at the property, there is a fast charging station location around the town hall on Bow Street.

For any personal belonging/s that are left at the property, there is a $40 (regardless of size) minimum return fee + courier bag/packaging. This is to cover staff travel and time to the post office + administering the return charge.

Please note there is a motion sensored security camera at the entrance door. These devices are for the security of the property, but if there is reason to suspect misconduct from guests, the footage and data can be reviewed.

We absolutely loved our stay at Tawatahi cottage! It’s a classic, quirky, 1940s Raglan bach with a fantastic deck area overlooking the most incredible views over the Raglan harbour and wharf. The amenities were excellent with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing weekend away. The house was spotlessly clean, with quality linen, comfortable beds, and nice furnishings. We loved our short walk down to the wharf for a fish & chip dinner, and the vibrant Raglan town is only a few minutes drive away. We will be back for sure!

Cute little cottage with exceptional views and good proximity to town. Had it quirks with very uneven flooring, a very small loo but also has the most epic shower pressure. All in all a very comfortable and tranquil place to stay.
