“Pros: We arrived early because we weren’t sure how long it would take us to get there from the airport and they were able to let us check in early. Very clean room, great little pool (water was really cold which would be fantastic on a really hot day), lots of wildlife (lizards/iguanas, squirrels, birds and butterflies), and very kind, patient and accommodating staff. “We paid months ahead as with many other accommodations, which we've never had any issues with. This place was hard to find so we called to clarify directions, and we were told if we didn't have a 4x4 that it wasn't possible to get to (which was NOT mentioned on the booking site on Expedia) We were left to scramble and find a place to stay last minute which was inconvenient and cost a lot more. We were also informed we would be given the money back but months later we still haven't seen it. ”

“What seems like a nice place is definitely ran with complete disregard and unethical practices. You choose what seems to be a nicer place to avoid the scams that can occurs yet they would rather take advantage of the customer for every cheap dollar. First our safe was broken in and left the entire stay. Next they try to get us to sing documents in the middle of the night when we are stopping at our room with friends. Trying to get us to sign a document agreeing to bogus fees while intoxicated is...

“The stay was pleasant. Be aware that the office closes at 21:30, not midnight like the details shows. Other than that, it was a great stay and plenty of mangos to eat. ”

“The private room was very clean and just big enough to stretch out. The air conditioning was very strong. Nikki, the receptionist on duty during our stay, was a wonderful help to us and devoted some of her own time helping us plan our time in Jaco. The pool is lovely, and the hostel owners make a wonderful Gallo Pinto for breakfast every morning.”
