“the motel was newly remodeled and nicely located. beds were comfortable. walls are fairly thin, but the biggest issue was the motion sensored bathroom light that randomly turned on through the night. we couldn’t figure out how to shut it down. “The room said non smoking but it reeked of cigarettes. The furniture looked really old. The mattress had a dent in it like it has been used for 30 years. I didn’t sleep well at all because of the uncomfortable mattress. There were no pool towels and when they were brought out, they were tiny. I’ve always thought best westerns were nice but this felt like a motel for the price of a hotel. The breakfast was okay but could use more fresh fruit and more options. “The Surf Lodge was modern and clean, however when you can hear the guests next door talking and then snoring all night you don't get a good nights rest for $400+ a night. We stayed in a Queen room and it was tight, the bathroom was narrow with a small sink and shower area. Our one lucky score was a parking spot that didn't originally come with the room, definitely a saving grace on a holiday weekend. We won't be staying there again as we didn't wake well rested.”
