“Very nice stay. Lovely big comfy bed. Clean and spacious room with good facilities. Staff very friendly. Only comment was that when we asked how to get the rugby on the tv channel, they weren't able to help and said to go over to the pub, which we did and saw it there, but maybe something that could be checked.”

“The staff were very helpful and polite. We stayed in a Superior double room. The room was okay but the bathroom was not ok. Shower curtain and a very confined space for the toilet - which was rather odd. No hand towel supplied. Very limited supply of tea/coffee etc We felt a bit ripped off for the money we paid.”

“Overall we had a good stay at the motel. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. Most parts of the experience were smooth and enjoyable. The only major issue was the airport shuttle service. We paid $15 to book the 6am shuttle to the airport, but it never arrived. We waited until 6:30am with no communication or update from the motel. In the end, we had to book an Uber ourselves for a very similar price just to make our flight. What was most disappointing...

“Very hospitable staff. Location is on a fast bus route to both airport and center city. Free shuttle is nice. Good television channels. Nice cafe around the corner.”

“Golden hotel is the perfect stay once landing in Christchurch and before leaving again. Very clean and nice space. Staff is also responsive and kind with inquiries. There is a Vietnamese cafe right on the main lobby so very convenient for a quick pick me up. Overall, would stay here again so definitely recommend!”

“Only 1 day did the housekeeping staff forget to clean our cups. Breakfast - needs better coffee machine and options for guests who are lactose intolerant and also soy intolerant.”

“The room was great. The bathroom was great except there was no hair conditioner. The floor however did not appear to have been cleaned. The carpet had stuff on it (including someone’s old contact lens!) and the floor was sticky on parts. The kitchenette was stocked but we didn’t really need that since we ate out every meal. Overall good stay.”
