This is a gorgeous place - stunningly beautiful location, and the huts are designed, built and furbished to an extremely high standard. The sauna with a view, and the outdoor bath (for nighttime stargazing, in our case) were both very special experiences. The shared kitchen.is generously equipped. The little reading caravan is fabulous. We love the whole vibe of this place, and will return if we can.

Beautiful little cabin in a quiet and wonderfully maintained bit of land. Amazing dark sky view of the Milky Way. A perfect and relaxing stop. We wish we had spent more time there and if we ever make it back to NewZealand we will make a sure we stop over again.

A small cabin in a big valley surrounded by vineyards. The setup was lovely and we had a great night sleep. You did have to walk to the shared bathrooms which wasn't convenient, but if you want a regular hotel experience then go stay in a regular hotel. The surrounding area was very peaceful, and there were some nice walks and wineries nearby. We found some dead ants in our cabin, but once we cleared those out, we had no other issues

Due to being in the middle of nature, on the rare occasion, they decide they love our environment too. We always do our best to eliminate this. We would love to welcome you back. If you are wanting a unit without a walk to the bathroom, we also have our self-contained units available.

I was a bit anxious about the shared facilities when booking - but they are really nice. Went on the river walk and had a great swim. Yoga before breakfast in the sun. Choice.

Peaceful, private and out of the way. A lovely place to relax and recharge. Bring your own food and cook in the communal kitchen or lovely restaurants 10 minute drive away. Will definately book a return stay here.

Lovely place to unwind
Beautiful peaceful setting, comfortable huts. Great amenities with shared kitchen, outdoor bath, and sauna. Had no interaction with hosts during my actual stay but everything was explained in compendium in room. Only issue I experienced was booking it specifically because it was pet friendly only to be told my dog was too big. Had to rework my trip plans, but still a very nice stay and I would certainly stay again.

Where do I start - these huts are so delightful. There are six - three with ensuite and three that use two shared bathrooms. However, the shared bathrooms are luxury and are in there own self contained huts as well - so not your usual "shared bathroom" experience. There is also a private outdoor bath - where you can relax, stare at the stars - plenty of hot water. The property also has a well equipped kitchen/dining area, outdoor BBQ/fire, lounge area. I loved my stay here - wish it was longer than just one night - there are beautiful little touches all around.

Rabbit island huts were amazing !!! Unique and simply beautiful. The rooms were lovely and kitchen and bathrooms were excellent anything we needed was there !! And the out door bath was lovely.... wonderful hosts who made us feel considered and cared for ... would absolutely stay again !!

A bit out of the way, from Nelson, but very well worth it! Quiet, relaxed, unique; your very own cabin with high end features and bathroom. And did I say, away from it all?

Tout est bien pensé ! Les cabanes sont charmantes! La cuisine commune est très bien équipée, de petits gâteaux avaient même étaient préparés pour Noël pour l’ensemble des convives. Machine à laver et étendage à disposition. Environnement très calme et apaisant !

Thank you so much for our stay. Everything felt so homely and comfortable. We love the fact it was pet friendly as we bought our little chihuahua along with us aswell and she loved it! The honesty box shop is such a great idea ! We will definitely be back and would recomend to everyone.

Unique Property, very enjoyable in the peace and all the wee extras that have been thought of! Relaxed, homely yet with the extra touches! Have been to stay last year, so came back...and enjoyed some vineyards not far away as well! Thankyou!

Situated off the beaten track, these huts provided quite a bit of comfort with color co-ordinated decorations and tea/coffee service. Room was heated and had a small fridge. We shared shower facilities that were large and well maintained. Shared kitchen facilities were clean and well stocked. My favorite was the honor grocery and fresh berry ice cream!

By far my favorite experience while my husband and I were visiting New Zealand for our anniversary. The owners of the property were very personable and made us feel right at home. The facilities were clean, quaint, and whimsical. The experience of living in a "community" for the night was unbelievable in sharing the beautiful kitchen space, bonfire area, and outdoor laundry/bathroom. It did not feel "communal" although the theme was very community-focused if that makes sense. Our hosts had freshly baked bread with assorted spreads, along with local coffee from their children's coffee roaster. The closest town was Mapua Wharf, which was about a 5 minute drive northwest from the accommodations. I would absolutely stay here again, and cannot wait to do so during my next trip to New Zealand!

Absolute perfection!!!
Booked this place last minute and would never have imagined hitting the jackpot like we did! What an AMAZING little getaway - peaceful setting, clean, modern fittings, most epic outdoor shower and bath and spotless immaculate shared bathrooms as we’ll as a decked out common area with complimentary fresh bread and jams. I couldn’t say enough positive thing so about this amazing little place, except for - if you’re in nelson THIS is the only Place you should consider booking. 5 out of 5 - we nearly never left!

If you don’t get in suit facilities, please book the shared bath (two bathrooms for four huts). Super nicely decorated « glamping ». Just 30-45 minutes drive to Abel Tasman National Park (you can do round trip to Apple Tree Bay - Beach for under 4 hours including beach time, bring your swimsuit). If short in time go to Porters beach.

Très calme.
Très bel environnement. Il est un peu loin de la ville mais la cuisine étant très bien équipée vous pouvez manger sur place entouré de Pukeko. Salle de bain "commune" grande et propre.

Enjoyable stay and lovely warm welcome
We arrived to a lovely welcome at Appleby House. We had the house to ourselves. It was very peaceful and amazing surrounding views. Every detail was covered and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and coffee with supplies from the owners. Amazing place to stay we will return!

Lovely, peaceful and quiet place to stay
We had just one night here, to break up a long stretch of travel. Would easily have stayed longer, and certainly would recommend to individual travellers or families looking to take the whole house. It's modern, stylish and quiet. All of the ammenities were catered for, including WiFi and a lovely self-serve breakfast. The sheep outside were entertaining, and if you stay on a full moon night, as we did, you're in for a beautiful setting!

Breakfast was so rich and good! The view tough - Oh my! How lovely and the house is more like a mansion. Very practical with washing machine etc! Just perfect! A place to stay and relax
