4/10
This is a hotel at a critical juncture. They must either invest some money and make immediate improvements, or they will slide into irrecoverable mediocrity and lose their fanchise.
First the good:
-The staff was all very nice. You could tell they were trying to do their best with what management has given them.
-The breakfast crew was excellent. High quality, good selection, different every day, and carefully watched to make sure there was plenty of everything. Again, kudos to the staff.
-The lobby is spacious and nice. So is the courtyard behind it.
The not-so-good:
-The gym was a wreck. Broken treadmill.Barely working elliptical with broken buttons and TV. Trash and towels not taken out for days. Empty unused space where more equipment could be placed. And your roomkey won't open the gym. You have to go to the front desk to get a special gym key.
-I think the pool is leaking because they had a hose running into it for the whole time we were there- made it unnecessarily cold despite high heat outdoors. Also, no towels housed nearby, One has to go to the front desk.
-We had a two room suite (201). The keys kept malfunctioning and kept needing to be reprogrammed. It was hyper annoying.
-Our rooms were dated. Old furnishings. Old TV's with barely working remotes. No USB ports. Little lighting- very dim.
-No AC in our hallway
-Only ONE ice machine for whole hotel that was perpetually out of ice.
-Elevators were awful. Barely working. Took 5-10 minutes go up one floor
