Upon entering there was a horrible smell throughout the place. The layout was cute but as we continued to check around, we thought we had beat the cleaners as the place had not been cleaned. When we messaged the host she insisted it was clean. Our pictures show otherwise. We continued upstairs to check out the bedrooms. It was quite hot. We realized the windows were open in the bedrooms. This also explained the disturbing smell since this was the day of the horrible air quality when everyone was encouraged to stay indoors. We were two asthmatics so immediately locked up the place, left the key, and found a hotel.The automated replies received from Evolve were useless since they knew nothing about the property and directed us to reach out to the host. Communicating with this host was extremely difficult and painful. The first time she explained she had experienced a family emergency, so we wanted to be empathetic, but the subsequent delays should have been the second red flag. (The first being there were no reviews on this property.)The rental cost seems in line with the rates we found in this area, but be aware, there is only street parking and there is no washer and dryer. We could not find any evidence of A/C upstairs.
