“Older building had some renovations but could use more, overall seemed clean”

“Wow! This motel was really a nice surprise. The easiest check-in to a hotel or motel I have ever had. The staff were upbeat and helpful. The landscape with all the flowers was outstanding! The room had a nice fridge and a microwave. It was clean and didn't smell like chemicals like other motel and hotels do. You can back up right to your door. Most importantly the price was half the price of rooms in Mackinaw City in which we have stayed, and much nicer.”

“Property is being renovated. Construction materials all over and noise from renovation. The room had construction dust and needed a deep clean. I’m sure it will be adequate when finished.”

“It was great to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Close to the state park with lighthouse museum and fort michilimackinac within easy walking distance. The free shuttle bus to Sheplers ferry dock was also appreciated.”

“We knew it would be a good stay after being in the office for 30 seconds. This is truly a small mom&pop motel, the owner was very helpful and inviting while we checked in. You could tell she cared about the property. She even informed us they do a small campfire with smores in the evening. “The staff is very polite and helpful. They let me know where everything was and gave us great tips for the island. The room was very clean and well maintained we were happy with it. Breakfast was a great inclusion and if you wanted there was a restaurant, bar and pizza spot on site, very convenient that we didn’t have to leave once we got there, food was good. “Bathroom tub was clogging and there are no towels and napkins.”

“Old, but neat. Small, but cute. Very friendly and helpful manager. Very reasonable price. Window AC unit was old and did not work well. We were immediately moved to a slightly larger room where the AC worked well. Manager said they were gradually replacing the AC units. This is a motel. Just a place to sleep. Felt safe, but right on a main road. Would prefer to see a deadbolt added rather than just a door lock.”

“If I could give this place negative star rating I would. When I booked this hotel online I rather reviews than 20 minutes later. I attempted to cancel my reservation only to be offered a 50% refund per the hotel policy. I decided to try this hotel the first room that they put me in did not have a fitted sheet on the mattress. It just had a flat sheet folded over the top half. They went to bring me a fitted sheet and we noticed there was ants everywhere all over the floor. They moved us to a room...

“Really loved the vibe at Pine Cottage. Room was very clean and ours had a great view, comfortable mattress. Guests can relax on the porch chairs and the breakfast was great. Would stay again.”

“The inn was Beautiful Victorian look building. We stayed on the 5th floor and was able to enjoy the scenery outside. The room was nice and staff were helpful. They provided excellent service transporting our lugged from the port to the hotel. Outside was adorned with beautiful flowers. They also have hot tub outside.”
