Great Hosts, Great Cabin
This cabin was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a place close to nature where I could have some isolation but also some modern amenities. The creek below was a real treat. Parts of the creek were a little more challenging to get to than just walking down the steps, but definitely worth the effort. Very peaceful. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone. It's proximity to other natural attractions was also a big plus. Even though the hosts are on the property, they were very nice and attentive to my needs and gave me plenty of space. Their response time prior to my visit was very prompt , including reminder messages. They were really great hosts.

Peaceful and quiet

Back after 8 years
This place is so wonderful. We had not been back in 8 years. We are going to start a family tradition to be back every year. The breakfast from Mrs. Patti is delicious and she was so kind to bake cookies for my daughters. Can’t wait to be back!

Idyllic retreat from the city
Our stay was wonderful. David and Patti were friendly and gave us great advice on sights and restaurants. The house was cooled to a comfortable temperature and cold water in the fridge. The hummingbirds hovered around the feeders and I got to feed the goats with David. It was an idyllic retreat from the city. Beautiful experience all round!

Love this place is very spacious and has a very beautiful views to the hills . The most beautiful thing is the hummingbirds flying in the front porch. It was breath taking I could stay all day starting at them . We definitely will be back soon.

Enjoyed our stay
Very beautiful and secluded property great for getting away and just relaxing. The wrap around porch offers amazing views. Property owners, David and Pattie, are close by if you need anything; however, we did not. We would definitely consider staying there again.

Fantastic Stay near Dripping Springs!
We absolutely loved our little house that we were able to vacation in! The property owners, Patty and David, were just so, so incredibly kind and friendly...with several good suggestions about where to go and what to see. The house itself was just great. We really enjoyed it. During the day we drove into Dripping Springs and on into Wimberley to shop and eat at the great local restaurants. We liked it because the house seemed so removed from everyone else- but really you were only 20 minutes into town. The house was well furnished, had everything you could need, we felt right at home. We visited towns during the day, sat on the porch at night, played board games by the kitchen window overlooking the beautiful cliffs, we took the ladder down to the river below. Just had a great time. Recommend this home to anyone wanting to visit Dripping Springs or the surrounding area. We would absolutely come back.

Beautiful and peaceful!
Husband and I came for a quiet getaway. The view from the front porch was absolutely beautiful and we loved watching all the nature. The hosts were very friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a peaceful trip.

Great cabin
This is an outstanding property with beautiful views and wonderful hosts. The cabin is well equipped, has comfortable beds, and is perfect for a couple's getaway. The hosts are attentive and helpful. We had no issues.

Lovely, peaceful cabin.
We had a great post Christmas family weekend. The cabin was peaceful and cozy and felt far away from the hustle and bustle of daily life but was very close to Reimer Ranch, Hamilton pool and Westcave. A little further but still very convenient, we visited Pedrenales SP and Longhorn Caverns SP. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and at daybreak and dusk and taking in the gorgeous view. My kids liked the staircase to the creek below goats and appreciated the WiFi and Roku😛

The perfect getaway
The hosts are wonderful and friendly and the location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the view while sipping our coffee in the morning. The property is far enough away from everything to be quiet and private, but still close enough to run into town for any supplies or enjoy one of the parks in the area. We loved our stay and have definitely added this one to our favorites.

Charming Cabin with Picturesque Views

This was our 3rd annual stay at the cabin so it goes without saying that we love it here. It’s a nice place to unwind, be in nature, and spend quality time with the family. David and Patti are honorary family at this point; we take pictures with them to commemorate our stay. We will come until they tell us we can’t come any longer.

Awesome place for adventure
The location of the house was amazing in so many ways!! The view in the morning, the armadillos we saw at night running around, the hike down to the river was an adventure in its self!! David and Patty were really nice people and I wanna thank Patty especially for the delicious breakfasts she made apon request especially the French Toast breakfast!! Worth every penny!!!

Back To Nature...
If you are looking to get away, or simply some peace and quiet, this is the place for you. This tidy and clean little cottage is far from the main road and unless you understand that from the beginning oh, you could be either frustrated or delighted. The house were cordial and helpful. The cabin/Cottage we're in excellent condition. The cliffs near the house we're far more dangerous than I thought. My husband and I ventured down, and I worried if either of us would make it back up. We are 75 and 77, and my concern was for my 12 and 13 year old granddaughters. We did not let them climb the cliffs after our first and only trip do

I'm glad Maureen and her family enjoyed the cabin and the peace and quiet we have to offer in a busier and busier world. I would like to point out, however, that the cliff has a fence around it to prevent any accident, and in 11 years of hosting and 27 years of living in the area, no accident has ever happened in that regard. Also, I am 72 years old and still occasionally take the staircase down to the creek below, which has handrails on both sides, BTW. We always request that minors not be allowed to go by themselves, only with adult supervision.

Sublime retreat
This house sits at the back of the owner's property, overlooking serene tree tops, and looking down to Cypress Creek. The remoteness is divine. We were delighted with the adventure of trekking down the steep stairwell leading down to the creek to bask in all the beautiful large trees and expansive roots exposed through clear water, looping around and over the rocks. Absolutely stunning scenery. The deck overlooking the creek is lovely for meditating or relaxing and reading a book in complete isolation, surrounded by nature, with not a sound to be heard except the birds singing and the sound of the creek running. Watching the sunrise from the side deck each morning was nurturing for the soul. I didn't want to leave. Also, there are friendly goats to visit with if you choose. We stayed here for quick access to Reimer's Ranch for rock climbing. The location was perfect. The owners were so kind and accommodating. Worth noting, you cannot drive your car directly up to the cabin. There is a lovely walkway leading back to the cabin, which is probably 40 or 50 yards long. It was no problem at all for us. We enjoyed the meander, seeing the goats and gazing at the birds at the bird feeders each time we trekked to the car.

Beautiful Country Gem
My family and I really enjoyed the beautiful cabin and the gorgeous property that surrounded it- we especially delighted in getting to pet the friendly goats and exploring the wooded path down to the creek. Patti and David were very friendly and helpful, offering many suggestions for food and activities in the area. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

Spring break layover
We were looking for somewhere close to Austin for 2 nights before flying home. This place was perfect. David was very good at telling us what the area offered and good places to eat. Close enough to Austin but not too close. The View was fantastic as was the swing overlooking the creek. The boys liked the ping pong and exploring down by the creek. I would stay here again.

A Little Corner of Paradise
Cozy house with breathtaking view of Hill Country, private access/ adventurous hike to the creek. A deck overlooking the creek is the perfect spot for a picnic. Excellent Private Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hammett’s Crossing. The owners were very cordial and available. The cottage was extremely peaceful and quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for. It is central to many shopping areas that are not too awful far away. The lower deck near the creek was almost like sitting in heavenly places, as you could hear the babbling of the brook. If you like seclusion and peace and quiet, this is the place to go. We loved it!
