“Lovely hotel”

“The rooms were so hot couldn’t be helped in this heat but couldn’t sleep art all , gave us a fan but it wasn’t much good , breakfast was ok but on the first morning run out of orange juice and coffee machine wasn’t working that well . On the Saturday there was a wedding party music was loud into the night nobody told us in advance”

“The positives were the airy room and lovely garden. The big negative was the buffet breakfast which they proudly claim to be award-winning. The reality is that for a 4 star hotel, the quality and range of options was extremely poor. Too many short cuts and cost cutting. The veggie options were limitd and not displayed on the tables and there were no extras (eg crushed avocado) even if you were willing to pay a bit extra. There was no fruit yogurt in individual pots and no higher quality healthy...

“If you are lanning to stay more than one day, PLEASE TAKE YOUR SHOWER GEL. Room are not cleaned daily. Continental Breakfast was OK. Weather became colder in evening & at night, there is no heating. When I requested, she can ot start central heating as these are summer months. There is no portable heater. Be careful, befora you book this palce”

“Lovely comfy room, fan provided during the extreme heat. Lovely small, mostly shaded, terrace at the back of the hotel. Delicious breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. There is one set of steep, narrow stairs to get to the rooms although help was offered to carry up our case.”

“Nice little bar with good outside space great location a Ross from open forest. Room smelt of dog after a while and the room needs a new lick of paint as does other areas .not a bad place just a little tlc needed .also breakfast couldn't see a price anywhere so didn't pre order one as you have to do that. Would of been better table service”

“Good location, 2 pubs very near and a 5 minute walk to Lyndhurst. Could have been a bit cleaner (only a couple of cobwebs on a light fitting nothing serious or off putting) but good for a reasonably priced Hotel. Reception friendly and helpful. We will go there again. P.S. Its very dog friendly.”

“The room was adequate, spacious but a bit dated and there was close proximity to food and drink.”

“Lovely staff. Unfortunately we stayed when it was very hot. Photos of rooms at the level we stayed at were slightly deceptive - ours was quite small compared to others shown which was disappointing. The fan in the room was not maintained and despite a request it was not swooped. Aircon would be great at the windows do not allow any breeze due to how they open. Sad not to be able to eat outside in the garden where it was cooler than the restaurant.”

“Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...

“A great place to stay. Good restaurant. Since there was a wedding party there at the same time, it was quicker to walk down the street to the pub instead of using the bar as there was only one barman serving lots of people.”

“A luxury hotel stay in the country but only a mile from a lovely town. Food was excellent as were the staff. Highly recommended”
