“We stayed in the deluxe 2 bedroom unit and it was very spacious and clean. The beds were comfy and the bedrooms had black out curtains. I sent a message in advance asking for the beds in one of the rooms to be separated and they were each made with their own duvet and bedding, which we really appreciated (they were separated a couple of inches which was sufficient for us). We arrived around 12:30 and were able to store our bags at the The Scotsman Hotel. I sent a message asking if the unit was...

“Beautiful hotel with small but perfectly formed rooms. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the castle which was tiny but lovely. The bar area is fantastic and the Whisky Bar was our downfall (thanks to Dario who is an expert!) Will definitely return”

“We loved staying at The Rutland! It’s in a great location within walking distance of most of the major sights. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts and coffee in the hotel restaurant were always delicious. We loved the decor and size of our room. Everything was perfect!!”

“Beautiful and cosy place just few steps away from the center. The atmosphere is exactly what you are expecting from a Scottish Hotel. Unfortunately for 2nights we had some problems with the heating and the noise the radiator was making. After the first night, when I showed the reception our concern, they told us that someone would have fixed it. None did. After the second night, at the check out I expressed again our concern and disappointment. The person at the desk checked what was not done....

“The property was in an excellent location. It had a contemporary appeal and the amenities were very good.. the only negative and it is the only negative was the mattress was tired and uncomfortable.. easily rectified… Would certainly recommend this accommodation when in Edinburgh .”
