This lovely, 2 story house situated on the banks of the Arkansas River, is just 15 minutes away from Salida. It offers a quiet and peaceful retreat with stunning views of the river and surrounding mountains. The house features a fully stocked kitchen and three bedrooms, accommodating up to six guests. Experience the beauty of Colorado and enjoy a relaxing stay in this charming home.

All Pinon homes are "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish and shower soaps are provided, as well as toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, salt and pepper, coffee filters and laundry soap.

Pinon Vacation Rentals provides guest support from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm.

All guests are responsible for reading Welcome Book “Check-In and Check-Out instructions.

~Acceptance of the terms of the Rental Agreement and all Rental Policies is ASSUMED at the time of reservation. 24 to 48 hours before arrival, check-in instructions will be sent to guest.

**This home is rented for personal vacation use only. Any other use including large gatherings or parties is not allowed. Renters must abide by all rental terms and policies, as well as all local applicable property covenants, restrictions, regulations and laws. Any evidence of smoking, use of firearms, driving ATV's other than in the driveway as access only, unapproved pets, unauthorized use of property grounds, damage resulting from violation of rental policies, and/or excessive mess may result in charges up to $3000.00 to the Guest's credit card on file, as authorized by Guest's approval of the terms of the Rental Agreement.

Reservations may be canceled more than 30 days prior to check-in with full refund. 14 to 29 days prior to arrival 50% refund. No refunds will be issued after this cut-off date for any reason. No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, spotty internet service or interruption of service.

Clear check-in instructions. Clean but pretty outdated/tired furniture, bedding and towels. Good stretch of river for fishing. No neighbors, great views of Mt Antero, however the road noise from the highway is prominent when outside but not inside with windows closed.

Very private location. We didn't see any neighbors during our four day stay. I'd recommend arriving before sunset. It could be tricky to find in the dark.Also, it is on a dirt road and we had to drive over some tall weeds to access the property. Would be okay for a Subaru Crosstrek, etc, but wouldn't recommend anything too sporty.You can see the river from the multiple decks and patios, but you'd need to forge through some serious weeds to get to it. Note that you can also see / hear the highway, especially during the day, but it quietens down nicely at night. The house is clean and well stocked. Decor is slightly dated, but still very comfortable.I must not have looked at the listing / reviews very well because I didn't realize that it was a split-level. I had my 78 year old mom along who uses a cane and isn't great with stairs. She managed, but just be aware that anyone with mobility challenges might have issues. It's clearly stated that there's no A/C, which wasn't an issue in early SEPT, but the box fans in each bedroom were much appreciated or white noise.There are warnings in the house re: not leaving food out due to pests. This isn't a really developed area, so this isn't unusual and wasn't an issue for us, but keep it in mind if that sort of thing bothers you.

By the River is a truly amazing property that is kept up in pristine condition. The views, the access to the river, and location are as good as it gets. The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need and is immaculately clean. The many decks/patios capture 360 views and the fire pit and field by the river area are hard to beat. We hope to come back!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything was extremely clean, the host was very responsive & helpful, very thankful we were able to bring our dogs because they absolutely loved being able to access the river on a daily basis. The house is in a perfect location too, only about 10 minutes outside of town so you have access to all your needs but without the noise. The house had everything we needed and more, it was a luxury. Hope to make it back one day.

Check in was easy and the house was beautiful. Full kitchen and 2 spacious lounging areas. Lots of windows and porches to sit and enjoy your coffee while enjoying the wonderful views. Pronghorn and deer wandered around the house. The only downside was no seating near the river as shown in pictures. If we ever come through the area we will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Property

Great house with great views! You can see the mountains and the river! Sit on one of the many patios and listen to the Arkansas River flow by. It was amazing to have a fire out down by the river. We ended up making a couple of fires down there and just really enjoyed our time unplugged from everything.

Former Salida residents

After leaving Salida in 2013 for Lakewood, we miss the community, restaurants, and scenery a lot. By the River was the perfect place to stay so we could spend a few days exploring our favorite places again. The scenery is breathtaking from every window and everything was clean and comfortable. The owner has thought of everything- comfortable sitting areas inside and on the decks, games and books provided and a well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend it!

Beautiful slice of heaven on earth!

The house was roomy and comfortable! Kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed. We were mesmerized by the river and mountain views and sitting outside watching the sunset was beautiful! We will definitely return, it was a wonderful getaway!

Beautiful home that was a great base for exploring the area and plenty of space to hunker down and rest, read, watch a movie in a beautiful setting.Nice kitchen, we made good use of stove and oven, and charcoal grill.It’s a short walk down to the river, and you can see it clearly out the windows and from the many decks.

Quiet Views

The house has great views of the river and surrounding mountains and is at the end of a dirt road with almost no traffic. As I was leaving a couple had parked near the property's fence and was walking toward the river. If I wasn't leaving at the time, I would have never noticed them.

Amazing get-a-way by the river

The home was very inviting, plenty of room for all. The home and property were dog friendly and that made our stay-cation (We only live about an hour away) easy and super relaxing.

Lovely property

House was as described. Very comfortable. Took us a little bit to figure out where all the heating zones were, but once we did all was good! Views were beautiful and we had deer visit every day. Antelope in the field coming to the house. Would love to stay again!

By the river but that might be jusy our family

We were looking for a place to hang together as a family and enjoy the outdoors. We had good fishing, son in law caught and released 5 who fishes around Colorado a lot. Husband had difficulty wading but had several to release. Kitchen supplied well for our needs and we had a wonderful time browsing Salida and walking around town. Only suggestion you need a puzzle table. It is a perfect spot to watch the light change, sip beverage and puzzle away!
