The Rudolph Haus Downtown San Antonio Country Style Oasis

A beautiful 1930's townhouse/duplex style home, in a country style oasis setting ,surrounded with beautiful pecan and oak trees. Located in the downtown area about 1.5 miles to the San Antonio River walk, The Pearl Brewery, AT&T Center, Alamo dome, San Antonio Tower, and more... Also not too far Fiesta Texas Six Flags, Sea World, Canyon Lake, Guadeloupe River, and many more attractions. The house is located in the historic district Dignowity Hill neighborhood with few different doggie parks in the area.
Fort Sam Houston base is also 1/2 mile from the house.

Close to Everything!

Ernest was a very responsible host. Always available and willing to help. The property was very clean and comfortable. We were in town for a graduation at Fort Sam Houston and the Rudolph Haus was the perfect location. Ernest went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Also close to downtown attractions.

Read reviews before booking!

You share the house. The shower has the worst pressure I have ever experienced in my life not even worth using. Basically a motel with a washer and dryer. Should be cheaper but you get what you pay for I guess.

Great place to stay with your dogs

Excellent 1 bedroom place with a fenced off yard for dogs. Close to downtown with some nice places to eat and hang out in the area. Looking forward to staying here on our next trip to San Antonio.

All the comforts of home

Very clean and convenient location. Enjoyed the fenced yard for our pups and my husband loved the recliners and great TV. A great place to stay!

Livestock Family

We came to the area for the livestock show and rodeo. The house was perfect for our family, I really liked that I could bring our dogs with us. The house was very clean, everything is updated. The house is within minutes of the AT&T Center, and Riverwalk. We will definitely be rebooking for next year.

Overall decent place

While we did enjoy our stay, our only critique is the listing did not mention that the property was a duplex, only that it was a townhouse, and that the laundry room was shared with the other unit. This is will be our only VRBO stay as this was a trial for the app, we will stay with using another well known short term rental app as we have since 2016. Out of 25+ bookings there, we have only had 2 bad experiences, and those issues were out of our control. It was Still a decent place to stay for a weekend, as it was clean and affordable.

Pleasant stay

Everything about the process is simple, from booking to checking out. Owner is responsive and helpful. House was clean/nice, but the neighborhood surrounding the home is rough, especially aesthetically. The only other issue is that there was no soap/body wash or shampoo/conditioner in the shower. Would recommend. 4.25 stars, mostly due to neighborhood.

Cozy and Pet Friendly Home

Our host provided a home that fit our needs well. We traveled with dogs so it was great that he had a doggy yard for the pooches. He was also very responsive to messages. We will definitely book here again on our next trip to San Antonio.

Loved it..

It was everything it said it was. Very clean,everything we needed for our stay. Was close to everything we wanted to do. Was well lighted outside and had no problan sitting outside after dark. Will rent out again when we return to San Antonio. Thanks to the host..

Cute Cozy House

Me and my bf loved our stay in the cute cozy house? It was perfect for just us two. Really close by downtown San Antonio, the Riverwalk, and many other shopping locations and activity sites. Ernest the host was very nice and communicative making sure we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely come back when we're back in the area!

Perfect spit

This was a perfect spot for our stay. Not only was it VERY convenient to the convention center but the fenced yard was great for the fur babies and the house was immaculate. Ernest was very quick to respond to any and all communication. I would have given it 5 stars all across the board but I had to be honest and take away one star because as other reviews have stated, the neighborhood is going through a revitalization. That being said, I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable and the efforts for improvement are all around the property. I will definitely stay there again.

Rudolph Haus

My husband and I loved Rudolph Haus. Very updated, clean, and comfortable. We have little dogs, so the yard was perfect for them. Mr. Ernest was an excellent host. Checked in on us and also sent important weather information. The house is located in an upcoming area that is literally just minutes from everything we wanted to visit. Even my husband's visiting dialysis center was just a few blocks away. Understand the neighborhood is being revitalized but it shouldn't sway you from the house. It's well kept, cozy and truly lovely to have been built 1930. Definitely our place to stay in San Antonio. Highly recommend.

Perfect location to visit the Alamo and River Walk

Ernest was an ideal host, quick to respond to a couple questions. Happy to have met he and his wife. Kitchen was well supplied for us to cook a couple meals. We also appreciated the lovely laundry room that we used. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was especially appreciated on a hot San Antonio day. Thank you!!

The area is a bit concerning, it may be in the midst of revitalization but it was not very pretty area surrounding the property and the alleyway is a very rough road with lots of stray animals. The parking for this unit left our car receiving a lot of bird droppings to the point of having to wash it multiple times in a 4 day stay. The place is dog friendly although the grass could be shorter to help with clean-up. The property is not really by the river walk area.
