This upper-level Mission Beach vacation rental, part of a triplex, is also close to Belmont Park, Balboa Park, La Jolla Village and the San Diego Zoo, so get out there and experience the best of sunny, laid-back San Diego! Bring the kids! Watch the sunset from the shared deck, feel the sea breeze in the funky bamboo-decked sunroom, or relax on the huge sectional in the living area complete with a large, cable-equipped TV for watching your favorite vintage surf movies. This home also features high-speed internet access for remote work and schooling. The kitchen is stocked with all the equipment you might need to make your favorite meals. There's seating for guests in the dining room and additional on the huge, shared deck. There is a common area patio for with a BBQ and seating area to soak up the sun. Coin-operated washer and dryer on site. There are some beach items available chairs, umbrella, cooler, boogieboards, and toys​​​​​​​. Things to Know Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. All guests shall abide by the good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. No Pets.

The stay was what we expected. The host let us add another night on to our stay which was really nice. I did ask them for the cost of another night before they added it but they just added it without telling me which led to a little confusion but nothing crazy. The beach view is there...it is small but you can hear the waves and that was nice. The kitchen had everything we needed, plenty of towels. The place was clean. Not super spectacularly clean but clean enough for us! The location could not be beat!!! Right by the beach, stores, restaurants....the kids loved that and we loved sending the kids out to do their own thing. They are 15 and 19 and the area was safe. The kids also really enjoyed the boogie boards. I think the hardest part of the stay was finding the garage to park in. It is in the alley behind the house. It took us a bit to figure that out after 10 hours of traveling. The neighbors were nice and showed us the way to go. The garage is a very tight fit. The car we wanted to rent was not available so the company thought it was doing us a favor by giving us a huge SUV. Parking and leaving the garage was tricky but we managed. Overall we would totally stay there again and missed the location the second we left!

We had a nice overall experience, especially for the value.The biggest highlight was the location. It truly is just steps from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The home itself was a good size for our family of four, and we appreciated the nice view as well. Having a garage for parking was a big plus, and it was great that beach toys and boogie boards were provided. When I reached out during our stay, the property managers were responsive and dropped off cleaning spray, which I appreciated. The kitchen was a good size and the table was nice for having family dinners. The only negatives was the cleanliness, but not horrible for the price. I had to wipe down closets and drawers before using them because they were dusty. The curtain rod was also dusty and fell easily when we tried to open the curtains, which was frustrating. Additionally, I tried contacting the property management company ahead of time to ask about parking and what size vehicle would fit in the garage, but didn’t receive a clear answer. We ended up renting a Chevy Trax, which luckily fit (I wouldn’t recommend anything larger). Overall, this is a solid option if you’re looking for a great location at a good value. We overall enjoyed our stay here.

This was a fun property. The host was very responsive and helpful. I do wish it had been stocked a bit better. We could have used some oven mitts and dishcloths. The heater did not work well. We ran the space heaters to keep the place warm. I would definitely stay in this same area again. The location was fantastic.

Overall it was a pleasant stay. There were a couple issues. The coin washer would take the money but their was no start button or way to turn it on. Instructions would have been nice for that specific washer if it actually works. The bedroom lights would randomly turn on during the night if we had the fan going but had previously selected for the light to be off. Comfortable, nice place with fun beach stuff and had everything we needed except for the washer working.

Based on some previous reviews, I was a bit nervous about this place—but it turned out to be absolutely fabulous. The location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach and Belmont Park. We were literally walking barefoot to the sand because it was that close!The living space was perfect for our family of four. Both boys had their own beds, which was a great bonus. While we didn’t spend a ton of time indoors, the condo had everything we needed. Plenty of towels were provided, including beach towels, and there’s a spot just down the block where you can rent umbrellas, chairs, and boogie boards.Like most beach stays, it’s tough to keep sand out entirely. We used the hose downstairs to rinse off and a towel outside to brush off the rest—just part of the beach experience. There’s no AC, but with overhead fans, box fans, and open windows, we were comfortable even in mid-July.The unit has been nicely renovated—modern, clean, and fresh. Having a garage for parking was also a huge plus. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and we’d absolutely book again on our next visit!

The house is fine for the price and location, but we were very unhappy that there was construction going on in the downstairs unit the whole trip. We were not made aware of this either prior to or after booking. The construction lasted from early morning until 6pm every day of our trip except the final day, when they had planned to work but waited when we told them we'd be trying to check out during the construction time. We had to dodge around the construction debris and workers as we went to or from our unit. This was especially unfortunate as this is a beach property and we were going to and from the beach with kids in flip-flops and barefoot, which is not ideal in an active construction site. We attempted to ask for details on the construction plan with the property manager, but they never provided useful responses for us to work with.On the minor complaints side, the property management company was also terrible at communicating details such as on site supplies available (towels, beach toys, etc.).Additionally, the dryer was not working when we tried to dry our washed clothes.

Great location at Mission beach

Easy check in, everything about the unit was exactly as advertised. Parking in the garage is a bit tough because the alley is very narrow (don't have a large rental vehicle!) Location can't be beat - incredibly close to Mission Beach, Belmont Park, restaurants, etc.

Great location!

Perfect spot for our family of 6. The garage even fit our Yukon! Just steps from the beach and lots of shops & food options, plus only a short drive to Sea World and other destination spots! We had internet connection issues the first evening and they were quick to respond and got it all resolved for us! Great service, clean accommodations. Would definitely recommend staying here and will be back on our next stay in San Diego!

Great Mission Beach Location

Not much to recommend other than location. The outside has little curb appeal, broken down with a leaky roof. Poor communication with local management over several issues.

Misrepresentation and Poor Communication

Do NOT stay here! Other than location this has to be the worst VRBO rental I have ever booked. We could not pull into the provided garage bay as there was a construction van in our designated spot. We were not informed of the construction prior to our arrival and the hammering and sawing noise was so disruptive we could not stay at the rental to complete our work. There were termite droppings or frass all over the bed, nightstand and floors in the bedrooms! The shower water smelled like sulphur and the walls in the bathroom were dirty. The covered outdoor patio was constructed of PVC piping with a plastic corrugated ceiling and the straw walls were decaying. The garage code worked for the first 2 nights of the rental and then stopped working and we were unable to access our car the last day! Vacasa, the rental company was unwilling to help and indicated that the "local management office would be notiified". They never responded. The keypad codes provided were incorrect for the entry door. Thankfully we put in a shortened code and it worked! It was so frustrating not having ANY local contact person to come over to the rental to assist us! The pictures provided of this rental on VRBO are a misrepresentation of the actual rental. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.

Great family spot for a long weekend with kids

Excellent location for a quick walk to beach, restaurants, arcade, and convenience stores. Close drive to other San Diego attractions. Traveled with a teenager and 10-yr-old. Plenty of space in the apt.

Spring Break getaway

My family and I decided to go to San Diego for spring break. I booked this place based on reviews of location and we could not be happier. This was just steps away from the beach. My wife and I shared the main bed in bedroom 1 and my 2 kids had their own bed in 2nd bedroom. The couch could have been another option if needed. It was upstairs so we left windows open at night to get some of the ocean breeze and sat outside on the patio to enjoy the weather. Overall we will definitely book this location again in future.

The place was nice and comfortable and clean. Parking was a bit tight, we aren't used to such close parking but not bad. There was enough room for all of us. 6 people. The patio was cute.
