The Neighborhood:
South Park is a charming residential area with popular neighborhood restaurants that range from innovative vegan food to upmarket Italian eats. Tree-lined Fern and 30th streets, the main thoroughfares, are also home to indie boutiques and cafes, while nearby Grape Street Dog Park has views over the downtown skyline.
Getting Around:
South Park is a very walkable neighborhood but a car is the best way to get around San Diego. Uber / Lyfts are readily available if you aren't bringing your own car!
Other Things to Note:
For your safety, there is a ring doorbell camera and a camera for the backyard and driveway.
Pets are welcome with prior approval and additional $125 pet fee.

Here for graduation. Space was good 3 bedrooms two baths but one bedroom is converted garage space so configuration is a bit awkward as you can access one bedroom from outside or through another bedroom. Also laundry located outside the house.

Location, location, location!
Central to everything we wanted to do: every time we mapped a route it was a 15-minute drive. Fantastic view over a small canyon made the back patio feel private. Slightly awkward access to 3rd bedroom. Could use more silverware. No sign or smell of previous pet guests. Ample parking on a quiet street, which was good as we had an F150 4-door. Driveway on the small side. If Balboa Park's attractions are on your to-do list, this is the house for you.

Great South Park Location
This house has an amazing walkable location while still being very quiet and peaceful. We loved the back patio overlooking the canyon. Overall a very nice house but a major con were the king and queen beds. They were ridiculously creaky - like loud screeching sounds every time you get in, out, or move around in bed. Given the price and quality of rest of the property, they need to replace these beds ASAP!

Beautiful Property
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house and community. It was exactly what we needed. Low key, safe, and relaxing. We were able to take a walk down to the shops and restaurants located nearby and visit a few friends that lived within a mile of this location. The property managers were also very attentive and very sweet. Great find.

New Favorite Rental!
Beautiful location and house. Walkable with kids to restaurants, bookstore, shopping. Super clean and well-cared for.One bedroom can only be accessed through another bedroom or the patio entrance and there’s a step down to the second bathroom. Also, there wasn’t a room with twin beds like in the listing — king sized room and two queen bedrooms. Would stay again.

Family time
We met our family and had a great visit. The location was central enough for us to do everything- deep sea fishing, mall shopping, the zoo and sea world. We even brought our own electric scooters and road to some close breweries in the neighborhood.
The house was big enough for us to hang out and relax after long days. We all slept great and were very comfortable.
I wish the outdoor patio furniture was a little more comfortable, it’s a wonderful area but not for a long period.

Cute house in great neighborhood
We planned a short trip to San Diego, and the kennel we usually use for our 2 dogs was completely full. Luckily we found this house listed, and lo and behold it was pet friendly! It is in a great neighborhood, and we enjoyed walking around the area looking at houses.
There was great communication from the property manager and easy check in and out. We cooked dinners and ate out on the back deck, which has a wonderful view. The neighborhood is quiet and the airport noise is minimal. I would definitely come back to this house for our next San Diego visit!

South Park Gem
My family (5 adults) spent five wonderful nights in this beautiful South Park San Diego home. Everything is super clean with 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 beautiful bathrooms. We especially loved relaxing on the sun-filled back patio overlooking the gorge. The management team was incredibly responsive. One morning the coffee maker failed to work and they made a point to deliver us a brand new one by the end of the day!
The location can't be beat. We enjoyed the quick walk to south park restaurants and shops - especially Secret Sister for delicious breakfast sandwiches and pastries, breakfast at Cafe Madeleine and the best ice cream at Mutual Friend Ice Cream.
We can't wait to return!

Family Christmas in San Diego
This property is located only a mile from our middle daughter and son in law's home in South Park. Our other reason for choosing this property was that it has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to accommodate us and our son and younger daughter. The home is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood with a gorgeous view of the sunrise in the morning if you are an early riser. The 3rd bedroom and 2nd bath are located in back of the 2nd bedroom and there is a fairly big step down so maybe not ideal for people with young children or older folks. The big kitchen was great for our family because we always make Christmas cookies to decorate as well as other family favorites. The back deck is beautiful with a view of the canyon and would be perfect in warm weather. We took some nice walks with our dog and there is a cute little area with restaurants and shops in walking distance. I love beach type of decorating so that was perfect. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay
We loved the character of this home. It still has some of the original mid century charm. The 3 bedrooms worked great, as the teenager liked his kind of secluded space the back. The view is amazing, as is the patio. We definitely hung out there when we could. We had a few friends come over, and they were definitely jealous of our place over the one that they had rented.
The cleaning staff needs to do a better about cleaning the out of sight places like under the couch and beds. But, everything else was clean.
We had a bit of an issue with the electricity. We plugged something in and the lights went off in the front of the house. Rich was pretty quick about getting back to us, and sent out an electrician. There was an outlet with wiring issues. It was fixed, and there were no more problems with the rest of the stay. We kind of chalked it up to part of the character and age of the house.
The neighborhood is fantastic! Very cute, and nice to walk around. Also we were able to walk to some great restaurants. Breakfast at Matteo was fantastic. Carbon BBQ was really good as well. We walked around and checked out the small and eclectic shops.
We will definitely stay here again when we come back to San Diego.

The potential to be a gem
I want to start with all the positive things about this place and I hope that the property owners will read this review so that they can get it to a 5 star review.
This place looks like the pictures they have posted online. It's in a quiet neighborhood that is central to everything! We loved how close it was to the airport, beaches, and Balboa Park.
There is plenty of room for eight people to stay here. There is air conditioning and heating. We stayed two days in 95 degree weather and the air conditioning works great. A tip for owners is to post instructions on how to turn the heat/cold on or off as it took us awhile to figure that out.
There is instant hot water (unless a breaker trips, we will get to that later), and the kitchen is wonderful. A huge fridge/freezer, a large stove and and lots of spices for cooking. Most things you would need to cook a meal is available. For the owners, adding a recycle can in the kitchen would make it easy to separate what goes into the trash and what goes into the recycle bins on the side of the house.
The bathroom closest to the Master needs a larger trash can- and a couple extra sacks would be great so trash can be emptied.
The Master bedroom mattress is too soft :( but might work for you.
The patio is a lot of fun and overlooks a gorgeous view. There is outdoor seating and lights and the washer and dryer are also found in a little shed on the back patio...kind of different but it works. Just watch out for mosquitos at night.
So why did we deduct two stars? The property manager-Rich Sherf. (Owners! take notes) We had a problem with the breaker tripping which caused us to not have hot water or power. We were trying to get ready for a wedding and we called the emergency number multiple times only to be sent straight to voicemail. Even before the problem of no power, messages sent to Rich would take a long time before we would receive a response. Usually an hour was an average response time.
Once he had responded to our problem, he didn't resolve the problem at all. The electrical panel on the side of the house had a lock on it. (Owners, you need to leave a key for that box in case this happens again)
Rich's response to it all was "so sorry about that" but then proceeded to do absolutely nothing.
I don't know how much the owners are paying this guy but you need to find someone else to manage your property or do it yourself.
I will not rent a VRBO that is managed by Rich Sherf.
