Prende il nome dal biologo marino locale, Edward F. Ricketts, la Retreat House di Ricketts ha un'atmosfera di classe nella baia di Monterey. L'ultima casa alla fine della strada con un cortile privato recintato, un centenario albero di Monterey Cipro e, naturalmente, è possibile vedere l'oceano dal vialetto. In 3 isolati, potresti essere alle buche di fuoco di Twin Lakes Beach, andare in barca sul porto o prendere un boccone da mangiare al Crow's Nest o Johnny's Harbour. In un miglio, potresti essere in sella al Giant Dipper sul lungomare di Santa Cruz Beach. We had a lovely stay at this charming Santa Cruz cottage. Nestled at the end of a quiet street, it felt peaceful yet centrally located. While the listing highlighted walkability, the main road nearby had little shoulder and no close crosswalks. Once across, we enjoyed a nice harbor walk, but we mostly drove since everything was nearby.The cottage is adorable, with succulents and a vibrant fuchsia bush by the door. The outdoor shower wasn’t used due to the season, but the private, clean hot tub was a highlight—we soaked twice a day! Inside, the bungalow has a cozy beachy charm, with original oak floors and a propane stove resembling a fireplace. We used the coffee pot and kettle but ate out at the many great restaurants. The bed was comfortable, and the space felt welcoming.A couple of things could be improved: the towels were thin and small, and a cozy throw blanket would have been nice for reading. The owners were very responsive to small maintenance needs. Overall, our stay was relaxing, quiet, and delightful. We loved coming back to this sweet cottage after exploring and would happily stay again!

We had a great time at this cottage. It's an easy walk down to the beach. The place is cozy with nice outdoor space. The hot tub was wonderful, seems brand new. The parking is a bit tight being on a narrow dead-end street, but also quiet. Overall, very nice place.

This place was great. Located at end of dead end road, it was quiet ans we felt safe the entire time. Hot tube was wonderful, and it is just a short walk to beach. The 4 stars had to do with kitchen. The dishwasher was full of dishes when we arrived the inside of microwave was littered with crumbs. Otherwisw this place was ideal for a weekend getaway.

This was our second time staying at this cozy cottage and we loved it more this time! Has everything you need to cook for yourselves when you don’t want to eat out..Very quiet end of the street, well, except for the falling acorns from this big beautiful tree…lol..will definitely be back!

Nice clean house. Great hot tub and grill. Small but cozy. Great temperature with windows open. Perfect size for our family of 3 over holiday weekend. Quiet small street. Walking distance to Marina and Crow’s Nest Market and Restaurant. Multiple seating areas are nice although one more cozy seating area near hot tub would be an improvement. We’d stay again.

This little cottage was perfectly located for a long weekend in Santa Cruz. We were within walking distance of the Boardwalk, which is where we took the train to the Mountain Sol music festival. We forgot sugar for our coffee and were delighted to find some in the cupboard. Great stay and highly recommend.

It is small but very comfortable and perfect for a couple. The location is wonderful, quiet and a short walk to the beach. The hot tub was in pristine condition and a nice bonus. We have nothing negative to say about this place and are looking forward to returning.

The lovely bungalow is even more lovely in person than the photos show! Usually it’s the other way around! The yard is spacious and beautiful; the house and bedroom is cozy; everything you need is available and comfortable. The hot tub is great! The location is perfect. It’s a bargain and we’ll be back. So grateful its pet friendly.

This cute, cozy bungalow is perfect! A well-stocked kitchen made it nice to eat in. We enjoyed being off the busy streets but yet were able to get where we wanted by walking. The hot tub was also a pleasure. Glad we were able to stay here for a week.

Well-appointed cottage that was easy to access and on a lovely quiet street. The kitchen had almost all the needed items. The yard was perfect for our pups. The bed and bath were clean and set up wonderfully with soft sheets, comfortable towels, and lovely decor. We will be back!

Clean, convenient, comfy place. Only complaint is the very narrow driveway. I’d recommend parking in front of the house rather than trying to squeeze your car into the driveway. But you can’t always park in front because other cars park there too sometimes. Other than that, it’s a great little getaway in Santa Cruz, very close to the beach & harbor.

Cute & clean house, comfortable bed, nice gas fireplace, good little yard for a dog. And a hot tub! My only complaint would be the driveway. It’s really narrow & hard to maneuver into. There are 2 posts about halfway down the length of it, on the right. Watch out for them! Unfortunately I got too close & my car got scraped. I didn’t have anyone in the passenger side of my car; if I had, they could have warned me I was getting too close (but then of course, they wouldn’t have been able to exit the car on that side, it’s so tight!) I gave 4 stars for the overall rating because of this. There is parking in front of the house, which I would recommend instead of the driveway! Otherwise, it’s an awesome, very comfortable place!

This was.a nice small cottage to stay at. Unfortunately we had on the first day of 3 days due to an evacuation notice given by the county. We asked if we could change the dates and use it another time and we were told no. We did not ask for a refund. We thought it might be reasonable due to the circumstances.
