“The Retreat is truly a special place. The way to the hotel might be quite difficult but it really deserces it. Every detail is thoughtful and genuine, and the care from the staff really sets this hotel apart.
The food is exceptional—everything is delicious and clearly handmade with love. Breakfast is a real highlight: all the dishes are freshly prepared, and even the fruit comes straight from their own trees.

“Das Grundstück von Anny ist sehr schön.
Leider ist es uns schwer gefallen uns selbst zuverpflegen, da sich in der Unkunft nur eine Mikrowelle, Toaster und Wasserkocher befinden. Dank der liebenswerten Besitzerin erhielten wird gekochte Eier. Die Unterkunft läd für alle Reisende ein, die gerne Essengehen oder mit einer Bortzeit auskommen.”

“Simple but very nice place to stay in the mountains of Santo Antao for a few days. Very good breakfast and dinner. Only communication was sometimes a bit difficult, because host and staff only speak Portuguese.”

“Soggiorno sicuramente piacevole, grazie alla splendida accoglienza e disponibilità dei gestori-proprietari e del personale. L'albergo è a 100 m dal mare, molto ben inserito - anche dal punto di vista delle relazioni umane - nel centro di un villaggio di pescatori.
