The Space:

SantoCaves consists of three traditional Santorini cave houses, originally built around the 1900s and fully renovated in 2009. Since 2019, the caves have been carefully transformed into welcoming holiday rentals, offering modern comfort while preserving their authentic traditional architecture.



Guests have the unique opportunity to stay in a real Santorini cave house, designed to naturally maintain a pleasant temperature throughout the year, making it both comfortable and eco-friendly. Each cave features a king-size Sealy mattress on a handmade concrete bed, a kitchenette with a dining table, a private shower, a balcony with outstanding Caldera views, a 32-inch flat-screen Smart TV with Netflix, and dehumidifiers for extra comfort.

The Neighborhood:

SantoCaves is beautifully located above Akrotiri Castle, in a peaceful and traditional neighborhood of Santorini. The property offers the perfect balance between privacy, comfort, and easy access to local attractions. The center of Akrotiri village is just a 5-minute walk away, where guests will find shops, cafés, bakeries, pharmacies, traditional taverns, restaurants, bus stops, and taxi services. There is also a public parking area near the caves for guests with rental vehicles.



The location is ideal for exploring some of Santorini’s most famous sights. The Ancient Akrotiri Excavations are only 1.2 km away, while the famous Red Beach is approximately 1.7 km from the property. Guests can also visit the Caldera viewpoint, Akrotiri Beach, White Beach, Black Beach, Perissa, Kamari, and the Akrotiri Lighthouse. Very close to the village there are plenty of places with lively nightlife and traditional architecture, landscapes and lacy beaches. Visit the infamous Imerovigli (13km) where you can gaze upon the majestic and the world-wide famous sunset of Santorini.

Close to the property you will be able to explore famous beaches such as Kokkini (Red) Beach (1.5km), Akrotiri beach (2km), Aspri Beach (3km) Black beach (4km), Perissa beach (8km) Kamari beach (12km). Take a chance to visit Akrotiri Lighthouse (4.5km). For a day trip, do not hesitate to visit the nearby island of Nea Kameni, a volcanic island in the center of the caldera of Santorini.
