“Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!”

We were lucky enough to have a private onsen with very clean water at the perfect temperature on a lovely little lanai. All of the staff are very friendly and professional and the food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a touch of classic Japan in Kyoto!”

“The room was within walking distance from the bamboo forest and local restaurants. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. The staff were really nice and very helpful and patient.”
