The Modern Surf Shack is a brand new 1 bedroom, 1 bath, detached guest house, nestled in the heart of Northwest Bradenton. The guest house can sleep up to 3 people. This guest house is located just a 5 minute drive from the Anna Maria Island Beaches, shopping, restaurants, nature preserves, and IMG Academy. If you’re looking to make new memories and have a wonderful vacation, then look no further, The Modern Surf Shack is your place to stay!

Lovely Guest House

This is a lovely guest house, situated behind a nice home, in a decent neighborhood, close to the causeway bridge over to Anna Maria Island. It is just as it appears in the pictures; clean as a whistle, new, comfortable and modern. The bonus was they let me bring my two golden retrievers and the yard was plenty big enough for them to play, do their business and chase lizards! The bed was cloud-like and the kitchen was pretty well stocked, except for hot pads, cookie sheets or pizza pans. (It was difficult to heat up a pizza in a baking pan!) As mentioned in a previous review, the ceiling fans need to be balanced as they are really noisy! My biggest complaint was the wi-fi….It sucked. I had no problem signing into and connecting with it, but rarely had any service. When I did, it lasted merely minutes. If I could rate this property a 4.75, I would’ve, mostly because the wi-fi. Otherwise, I loved staying here! It was a little oasis and I quite enjoyed my stay, but wanted to make sure that these things were mentioned so that they could be fixed for the next person! When they are, the property will be a 10!

Cute little get-a-way

We gave this property a 5 because it is updated, clean, pet friendly, and the owner has good communications. Please be aware that the property is a very shaded lot. If you are looking for a a sunny backyard , this might not be the spot for you. When we stayed there were lots of Spring yardwork and outdoor cleanup that need tending to. Inside everything was well stocked, working, and clean except 2 of the ceiling fans that were banging and could not be used during sleeping hours. ( the owner was aware of the fans and was looking for a break in the quest to get them fixed). Also note that the pictures in the listing where it shows a cute outside bar is not acurate. When we were there, the bar was overgrown with vines, It looked broken and had no stools. There is current four top ouside table set up further in the back corner of the property, but we never used it because it was very shady in the area. the table area had a cute string of outside lights, but not a real useful area for us to use.

Great Place!

My wife and I stayed at the Surf Shack for three nights. It was very clean, comfortable and a short drive to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay at the comfortable and cozy surf shack!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, the Surf Shack. The owner was clear on rental expectations and easy to work with, the house was clean and comfortable and had plenty of privacy even with another rental on the property. The property itself was lush and beautiful, with more than one comfortable outdoor space to enjoy. The decor was modern and clean, bed very comfy, and our dogs enjoyed going belly down on the cool concrete floor after walks at the many nearby dog-friendly nature preserves and were thrilled when we filled their bowl with fresh ice chips from the freezer! The owner was kind enough to share several great ideas for dog-friendly places which was really helpful. We truly appreciated the good internet speed for necessary zoom calls with work, the clean beach supplies (chairs/umbrellas) and the cruiser bikes! We did bring our own helmets to use and biked several times to Anna Maria Island beaches, about a 45 minute leisurely ride, avoiding the spring break car traffic and parking hassles of the season. We cooked all of our meals in the home and even though the kitchen itself was an amazing space, it could have used a few more kitchen supplies (can opener, pot w/lid), but again we did bring several items expecting to cook and knowing that often rentals are limited. The washer/dryer, appliances, showers… all seemed brand new and were really nice! The location was great and in a neighborhood that felt like home. We would most definitely return again given the chance!

Surf Shack

accommodations were very comfortable... very clean... check in was a breeze... Host was very accommodating, and even allowed us to check in a few hours early. Perfect spot for two people!
