I am a global traveling disabled Veteran with severe combat
I'm a disabled Veteran with severe Combat PTSD. I've Traveled most of the world & it's good therapy to be with my wife, traveling, but I need to be sure everything is set and understood before I go. I tried to contact the woman listed as the point of contact via messages and phone calls, but could never get through to her. I kept trying, but was always directed to a mans mail box. I left messages but he never replied either. I finally reached him and he was extremely rude to me and informed me I ruined his night. I asked where the woman listed as property manager was and he said he managed the property, not her, even though VRBO had her listed as the point of contact. When we arrived there was no WIFI password. I operate numerous huge social media accounts and must monitor them We couldn't get online to VRBO to search for a solution without internet, but luckily I had a WIFI hot spot on my phone and was able to find what I needed on VRBO. We contacted the property manager immediately when we arrived about all this, but didn't hear from him until the next day, close to lunch time The place has a dish washer listed, but there isn't one. There is no a/c and only one ceiling fan, in the main bedroom, but several windows, including all three in the kitchen have no screens, so this is a major comfort issue. When we tried to open the windows without screens bugs came in so we were forced to keep them closed and just be uncomfortable and hot. The TV remote didn't have batteries and I had to call to ask them to put some in. They said they had no cable but great TV antennae coverage, but we couldn't even get a watchable picture for the local NFL game right down the street. They stress quiet here, and even have you agree to a request that you will be quiet. We are quiet people and are cool with that. Thursday evening, someone was hammering in our building below us, most likely in the apartment under renovation, and I was awakened after 10.00 p.m. by loud sweeping right in front of my window. I looked outside and saw one of our landlords loudly sweeping leaves on the sidewalk. It was 1:00 A.M. my body time back east, and was a rude awakening. There is only 1 bath room and the shower is quite small, with 2 small benches not big enough to comfortably sit on. Only half of the shower is glassed in, with the other half covered by a shower curtain. We were overall extremely disappointed & frustrated.
