Hotel vicino a Segway of Amelia Island - Jacksonville

“I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means.”

“Clean facility, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, fresh breakfast with a daily change of hot menu items, good coffee, and a variety of juices, milk, and tea also. Within walking distance of the beach and several restaurants and shops and within a short driving distance to many others.”

“Amenities were good BUT there was no maid service unless you asked for it- which they did not tell us until it was no longer available during our stay. So we had unmade beds, no towels and you can’t open the windows so the room smelled without fresh air. Management was somewhat apologetic and even though we are Marriott Elite members the only accommodation we got was a $25 bar credit. Oh and the door lock didn’t work right and we almost got locked in our room!”

“I loved this place! Some colleagues were staying at boring, soulless places, like the Ritz, but I chose this because it looked really authentic and homely. It was my first time in Florida and I was really happy sipping my beer, listening to the country music from the next door bar and feeling like I was on holiday, even though I was there for work! “The furniture was very outdated and damaged. The fridge had rust all over it. The floor looked unclean. Overall it was just bad.”

“Stayed at Hoyt House in early April. Weather was lousy. Everything else was great. Location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores of Fernandino Beach. Everything in the Inn was in top shape, and a lot of thought clearly went into making the guests comfortable. Umbrellas when it rained. A glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of places to sit witha book or other activity. ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area....
