“This is perhaps the best hotel in the Hualien area, with a top-notch new facility and close proximity to the Taroko National Park which unfortunately was severely damaged by the earthquake on 4/3/2024. “We were in this hotel when the big earthquake hit (epicenter about 10 miles south) and it was very scary. The hotel staff were so nice and calming and reassuring. they got right to work cleaning up all the broken stuff and checking all rooms and reassuring people. “Wow!!! What a find. The owner, his wife and staff were so welcoming and made our trip so enjoyable. The grounds were calming, and the rooms big bright and comfy. The location is so close to Taroko National Park we were able to enjoy their fantastic breakfast, beat the crowds, get a full day of hiking and exploring the breathtaking park, and get back to the best shower I’ve ever had before heading to the Dongdamen night market. “We had an amazing relaxing, calming stay at Sophia’s property. It was sparkling clean, well thought out and Sophia drove us to her favourite restaurants for lunch and dinner and picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. Couldn’t ask for better service! Plus breakfast was delicious, highly recommend staying with Sophia. We stayed a couple weeks after the earthquake and the property is very safe and has no damage.”

“The location is not far from the train station so that was great. The hotel itself is ok. I’ve noticed most hotels in Taiwan never seem to clean the windows so it looks dirty.
