“The hotel was truly remarkable! While some areas, especially the bathroom, could use some renovation, it was exceptionally clean, and the view was simply breathtaking. The dinner was an absolute delight! Although I am not usually a fan of rice, it was so soft and fluffy that I could not resist having another bowl. “This is an old merchant house that has been nicely remodeled as a hotel. It's smack in the middle of Tomonoura's historic renewal district. The room I had was spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed. This hotel requires some pre-planning: getting the shuttle bus from Fukuyama, making sure basic needs are met (no onsite staff, except at breakfast time). “Near train station which was nice. Is harder to find as it is inside of an overhang off the street. Once you find it its easy to navigate to as near main dinning and shopping area. I went during a slow time of year, but got a little street noise but not much. Good outlet and mini area for luggage. I had 3 bags (size of airplane carry on) and all fit under bed. “Nice stay overall. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Located at train station (but did not hear trains for most part) so convenient and also easy walking access to shops and restaurants. Smallish rooms all three of ours had steps right at the entranceway which made it awkward for luggage. That said I noticed most of the other rooms did not appear to have this. Breakfast was great too. ”
