This home was everything we were looking for, especially during this stressful time. We were able to unplug and enjoy the peacefulness of nature in a very comfortable setting.
The home has everything you need to enjoy your stay, including ample kitchen equipment (cooking utensils, waffle maker, toaster, spices, etc), cable/internet, patio furniture, water toys and bikes. We only used the master bedroom and bath, and both were comfortable. The living room is very comfortable, and the wood-burning fireplace was a nice accompaniment for evening reading and game-playing. Two bundles of wood were provided, and we purchased the rest from a self-serve stand a 1/4 mile down the road.
The area is very quiet. Most of our stay, no one was on the lake except for during fishing times (early a.m./late afternoon). There is no dock though, so getting the canoes down to the water is a little strenuous. There is a nice 3 mile loop around the neighborhood for a long walk or leisurely bike ride.
While there is a little sundries shop at the crossroads a few miles from the house, there is not a "town" for shopping or dining. The closest big grocery store is about 30 minutes drive. So, plan ahead. The nearby country club is good for take-out or a cocktail on their patio overlooking the course. The golf course is very well maintained and an enjoyable round for all skill levels. I played the 18 hole course twice and the par 3 once during our week stay.
Owner communications were quick and helpful. Check-in and check-out were very easy.
If you are looking for a remote getaway to recharge your soul, this is the perfect place.
