“The owner is very kind and helpful and has a lot of recommendations for the area. The rooms are VERY spacious and the washrooms are clean. There’s a little kitchenette you can use and a fridge. Theres tons of restaurants, stores and markets nearby. Walking distance from the MRT which is perfect. One of the most welcoming hostels I’ve been in a while.”

“It is a nice hotel with a nice view of a mountain and a river. The location is fantastic with many nice restaurants and cafes around the hotel. The hotel room is spacious and clean. Some of the hotel staff are friendly. I like this hotel.”

“This Hostel is constructed & designed like a beautiful boutique hotel, with comfy common space to hang out. Henry, the key staff person who is usually on site is super friendly and helpful. Tamsui is a great place - 45" train to Taipei, but on the coast & close to nature & hot springs. YES is at a central but quiet location. Highly recommend!”

“This is the third time i stay here. First time was in 2019, stayed for a couple of weeks. Fast forward to this year, front desk lady Carrie still recognized me! Staff here all speak very good English. Lobby and common area always kept clean. Beds are comfortable and firm. ”

“Neat and clean. It doesn't have dryer though, there is a coin laundry nearby. Breakfast is good. This place is near the station and the river walk, so it is close enough to access some local main street and well known cafe. Bus is nearby also, so you can ride to the harbor. One drawback on this hotel is that it's shower water pressure is not power enough so you would need to wait a bit for the hot shower coming out. And, sound proof isn't great, you could hear shower sound from the other rooms...

The onsen was a great experience. Just be prepared to have your Western views about nudity challenged (the onsen is nude only. No bathing suits allowed). Just one thing, the staff will tell you the in-suite onsen takes 20-ish minutes to cool down to a temperature that won't scald you. It was closer to an hour. ”
