Gable House is strikingly beautiful, filled with fascinating artwork and furnishings, all unique to the area and the house’s history. We look forward to returning with friends and family!”

“Scott, the front desk manager, was very courteous and helpful. On the downside, the TVs remote systems were both very confusing to use. Simple things like figuring out what channel to turn to ....very complicated, little navigating to find the channel guide! Not exactly like some systems as Holiday Inn or Hilton properties use like DIRECTV.”

It was so nice to be able to park at the hotel early in the day so we could visit the town and ride the train even though we weren't checking in until later that evening. Restaurants and shops are very close, everything is walkable. Our room was very nice and breakfast was great. We had a very enjoyable stay.”

“We stayed in a 2 queen bedroom in June 2026. The room was very old fashioned looking with old furniture. The mattresses were like cement. The room had bugs crawling around in the bathroom area and in the tub. We spent a lot of time killing bugs. The microwave was hiding inside a cupboard on a shelf about one inch above the ground. Really hard to use it when it's basically sitting on the floor. The refrigerator was also on the same level, and it was permanently set at a higher than normal temp (...

“The staff were amazing. The rooms and hotel were very clean. Only complaint we have was the restaurant and bar staff. They weren’t very friendly, and weren’t very fast for orders ect.”

“The lady who worked hard everyday, Brandie, to keep everyone fed in the morning did an excellent job. The other staff were very responsive to our needs. The room had no bathroom amenities, lotion, etc.”

“Brand spanking new property in a wonderful location for being downtown. The staff is just getting started and were very friendly and helpful, including the manager. Still working out kinks, but very pleasant room and good breakfast. My most serious complaint is with the garage fans running full blast, making noise for nearby residences and hotel properties.”

“Old style motel on Durango’s main road with southwest decor. I slept in the little “cozy” room filled with a queen size bed which was perfect for my one night stay. Little fridge and electric kettle for tea or pour-over coffee in the room. The office staff was welcoming and helpful. Very clean. “As travelers with accessibility needs, this hotel is top on our list! Super clean, great bathroom space / shower / grab bars. Super nice, relaxed lobby and lounge. The staff asked if we needed additional help, but not in the “poor you in a wheelchair” kind of way. Also - just up the hill (walkable/wheelable) is Ska Brewery — excellent outdoor atmosphere, kids playing in safe natural areas while adults enjoyed a beer. Highly recommend!”
