  • Located on McKenzie Lake in South Algonquin.
    A quiet secluded lake with approximately 60 other cottages. A large portion of the lake is surrounded by crown land. Short drive to beautiful Algonquin Park.
    Large waterfront property with three cabins for one week summer rentals.
    Summer months are a 7 night minimum. Sunday to Sunday is our preferred check in check out days.
    Fall is a three night minimum.

    Perfect for large family groups. Great place to be all together yet have your own space.

    1. Cabin 2: Sleeps 8, 1.5 baths, living area, full kitchen and basement.
    2. Cabin 4: Sleeps 2 & full bath.
    3. Cabin 5: Sleeps 4, full bath & full kitchen

    The waterfront has a private dock with a shallow sand bottom (deep enough for a boat) that gradually gets very deep and is excellent for fishing, swimming and water activities.
    The beach is a short pedal boat ride away. Pedal boat, two kayaks and canoe are included.
    Public boat launch only minutes from cabins.

This is our second year staying with Janet and Nelson and they are simply the best. Their property and accommodations are just beautiful and we highly recommend this property. Thanks so much for a great family get together.

Amazing place and owners

Property is beautiful. Facilities are very guest friendly and so pleasant and comfortable. Beds are very comfy. So much to do and see in the area. We would highly recommend and will be back. It was fantastic all round.

This is a marvellous property! We rented it for a week for 11 of us. The cottages are very pleasant, and the entire property was ideal for us. Excellent outdoor space in particular, and right on the water. The indoor space in the largest cottage would be very tight for 11 people having a meal, but we had good weather, so this did not pose problems for us.

Ten Star Holiday

The cottages are very clean, well looked after, and exceptionally well equipped; the lake was very quiet with little boat traffic, even on weekends. The swimming was wonderful, and both adults and children enjoyed the water mat! All in all, it was a memorable family holiday, and everyone voted to plan another visit to Alexanne Cottages. Thank you to our excellent hosts, Janet and Nelson.

Family Vacation, 2025

Our second visit to Alexanne Cottages was as totally satisfying as our first, in July, 2024. It is wonderful for each family to have their own space, and yet spend lots of time enjoying the beach activities and taking meals together. We are a group of 10 (6 adults and 4 children (ranging from 3-9). The cottages are very well equipped, and everyone enjoyed the beach amenities (canoe, kayaks, water mat, beach chairs, etc. All in all, I highly recommend our stay on McKenzie Lake!

A beautiful stay on a quiet lake

Very cool setup with multiple cabins gave our friend group with a mix of couples and singles a lot of flexibility. Grounds are well maintained with every sort of equipment you could ask for. Starlink Internet worked well. Lake was quiet with minimal boat traffic. Easy to get down to the water and walk out into the lake for swimming.

This was our third time staying here, and once again we had a wonderful experience. We came as three families (four adults and kids ages 13–16), and the cottages were perfect for us—clean, comfortable, and with plenty of space to hang out together while still giving everyone room to spread out.The kitchens and amenities had everything we needed, which made group meals easy and fun. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side this trip, there was still lots to do and the kids had a great time. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, reconnect, and enjoy yourself no matter what.The host is fantastic—always quick to respond and checking in to make sure everything is going well. That extra thoughtfulness makes such a difference and is one of the reasons we keep coming back.We’d absolutely recommend this property to other families or groups, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay!

Just what a tired mama needed…

Once again, we had a terrific family and friends vacation (that includes our fur babies). I was looking for a place to relax and recharge, connect with my family and our friend’s family. We are a go go go family and need a week to just sit, play, and enjoy each other’s company. We are a large bunch with several teenagers and need space and a place that isn’t ‘fussy’. This hit the mark again. Janet was super helpful leading up to our stay and during our stay. Everything you need to know is at your fingertips. If you are looking for a place to wake up, open the door and let the kids play, this is it.

Best Vacation Spot for Families

This is an absolutely outstanding spot for a family to all gather for a vacation together. This is our second year where my family of 12 (my three kids and their spouses and my 4 grandchildren) were able to spend a week together. Beautiful property with clean accommodations, spectacular water access, and has everything you could possibly need for pleasure in the water, around the property and in the cabins. Janet and Nelson have thought of everything. This year was extremely special as my daughter was proposed to in her cabin. We had a lovely celebration. This place is now even more special. Can’t wait until next year. Thank you Janet and Nelson. Jan and Peter Bright.
