“The Beach Hotel is a social enterprise run by the YMCA as an apprenticeship scheme. In light of this we had quite modest expectations for our stay. But these were misplaced - the hotel is spotlessly clean, and run by professional, welcoming staff. The occasion was a large family reunion, and the restaurant served us all with a good simple dinner in an efficient and timely way. Service was excellent. “Lovely hotel. Rooms spacious and immaculate. Only disappointment was the food. Menu was not really to our taste and when we did manage to find something suitable the cooking was not great. My comments about tough meat which I couldn't eat were acknowledged. Otherwise great stay.”

I was really hoping for a bath, so the owner very kindly upgraded us to a room with a bath. Would definitely stay again. Plenty of walks from the door. ”

There was some confusion over the room that I thought I had booked, but that was really my fault rather than the hotel, but they went to all lengths to make sure we were happy - and we were. Staff are great and the pub has a nice relaxed feel with a bar area used by the locals (Friendly) with everything you want from a country pub. Restaurant area separate from the pub with a good varied menu.the food I had was great and good value for money. I will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.”
