“Only down side is that i didnt stay longer! A very cute little cottage with everything you need. Good heating, a very warm and comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom and a lovely little deck outside your room and access to a private outdoor bath. This is very close to Roxburgh and Ettrick traven is just up the road. I would love to come back and stay here again. There is no staff on site and i had to go to the cafe next door to ask about how to access my room. The ladies in the cafe said...

“The room was clean and very quaint! The owners were very nice and gave interesting insight into the wine making process in the valley. They made us feel right at home, and even gave us a few pieces of amazing fruit they had picked that day! The tasting they offer is a must-try; they’re doing things with wine nobody else is, and it works! The hot pools are also a fantastic way to relax after a long hike! The glass room in the olive grove feels like a portal directly to the Tuscan countryside!”

They were extremely helpful in providing us recommendations on places to see, eat, and activities in the area. Their breakfasts were an absolute delight (and tasty!), even at our early wake up times. Eddie and Frankie were very warm hosts into their space and are some of the friendliest pets we have met. Overall we could not recommend staying at Alpine Rock highly...
