Hendra Farmhouse

This is our third time visiting as Hendra Farmhouse is just perfect for our family. The location is wonderful and peaceful. A decent but doable 20 mins walk into St.Ives, means that you can escape the crowds and enjoy birdsong and views of the sea from the garden.The house is lovely and cosy, with a gorgeous and well equipped kitchen. The living rooms are spacious and the conservatory is a wonderful sun trap in the early evening. The small garden is perfect for relaxing in. Three bathrooms means no fight for a shower and the bedrooms are all comfortable

Wunderschön!

Wir hatten eine perfekte Woche in St. Ives! Das Haus ist ein Traum! Es ist wirklich so wunderschön, wie man es schon auf den Bildern erahnt und wir sind absolut begeistert. Wir können die Unterkunft wirklich absolut empfehlen. Die Besitzer sind super nett und haben uns ganz tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen und Restaurants gegeben.

Just Perfect

What a wonderful stay we had here. The house has everything you could need , the garden is relaxing , sunny & perfect for evening drinks & a BBQ. The house itself is fantastic , lots of nooks to escape to if your a large group , beds are really comfy & the kitchen is really well equipped. Plenty of room for all 8 of us ( 6 adults & 2 kids ). 5 mins drive to St Ives , lots of different beaches to choose from ,some as close as 5 mins drive , but all within 20 mins drives & all amazing. June & Dave are fantastic hosts. We will most definitely be back again

Great family space in beautiful setting

Farmhouse is in a beautiful location. Its full of character and charm has loads of space and the owners have thought of everything with regards making stay comfortable with games ping pong etc. Excellently equipped with all needs in kitchen etc. The only thing I would suggest is stating in the description that there is a penthouse apartment in the loft with private side access. It has a terrace which overlooks the garden. It didnt affect our stay or anything but might be an idea to state this as the penthouse description does state that it is located in the loft of the farmhouse and that there may be noise from garden below. But the farmhouse description doesnt disclose that theres a penthouse in loft. Just a suggestion. As I said we had a great week.

Lovely property for a family holiday

We had a great week enjoying the large kitchen and sitting room. Younger members of the group loved the trampoline. The BBQ was a great touch. Only issue was with a small leak in the kitchen and upstairs shower room when we experienced torrential rain which didn’t detract from the whole experience.

Beautiful farmhouse above St Ives

Sea views from the beautiful house and typical Cornish garden full of lush flowers. The house was spacious comfortable and full of character as described online. We had a wonderful family holiday with our children and grandchildren breakfast in the garden days at the beach drinks and sunsets back in the garden. Thanks to June and Dave who were very welcoming and helpful on our arrival.

Excellent farmhouse which exceeded expectations

This is definitely one of the top rentals we have experienced. The house and its contents were spotlessly clean and the house was so well equipped, including things like a baby carrier (which came in very handy on long beach walks), a knife sharpener, fruit salad bowls... you name it. Nothing was missing. The cottage has a cosy feel when the weather is inclement outside with a lovely log burner in the sitting room, but is wonderful and light on sunny days with several cosy nooks for reading such as the front conservatory or the back kitchen conservatory overlooking the garden. Sadly, due to the chilly winds, we didn't get much use out of the garden, but on a sunny day it would be perfect spot for a bbq, game of table tennis or sunbathing: secluded and well kept with sea views. Overall I would recommend this house to anyone and would definitely stay again.

Retained deposit

The property was attractively presented and comfortable, the location was quiet and scenic. While the owners apparently live nearby they did not introduce themselves. After our stay we were very surprised when they communicated that they were retaining half of the deposit on two counts - a stain on a single mattress (not sheet) and water being in the vacuum cleaner that was giving off smell and noise. Neither of these issues - if they existed at all - related to us. The owners said that they had ‘noticed’ a sheet being dried during our stay, and that is true. My daughter’s monthly cycle started unexpectedly and that we dealt with. She was in a double room and that was the sheet they ‘noticed’ being dried. They raised no issue with that sheet, mattress cover or mattress - quite rightly - because there was none. Not all the single beds were even slept in and we left no stain on sheet or mattress in any of them. The vacuum cleaner worked fine when we used it and there was no unusual noise, smell or water issues. A later email said that the wood stove front glass was cracked and that this was our fault. The glass was cracked as we noticed when first using it, this did not affect its function and so was not a problem that needed raising by us. We left a very positive written review in the visitor book and separately communicated some areas where improvement could be made directly to them. This was done in good faith to support the unseen owners business. The owners did not engage with our rebuttals and decided to retain the nice round deposit number anyway. In doing so they have lost our respect. We left the property in good order, taking time to clean and tidy the place, even though a fee for cleaning was part of the rent. I do not know how to account for the attitude and action of the owners, it has rather ruined the holiday experience being disagreeable, disappointing and a bit creepy.

Fantastic Home from Home

We look at the images and read the reviews all are excellent and accurate fantastic accommodation the Owner Dave who we met nothing was to much trouble the Farm House has everything you could every wish. The road up a down is a bit narrow but that is Geography which can't be changed. Who every visits will return 11/10 Phil Quinn and family Doncaster .

Fantastic farm house with stunning views...

Just perfect...! We loved everything about Hendra Farm House. The garden was perfect after long days exploring and the sea views were fantastic. The house was well equipped and very clean. Thank you Jayce for a wonderful stay.

Family Retreat

The house was beautiful and the countryside breathtaking. The kitchen was huge, well appointed and one of our favourite gathering places. The kitchen windows offered a beautiful view of the backyard, birds and bunnies, and I loved the night lighting in the garden. The house was a nice walk down to St. Ives and we enjoyed the local pubs, shops and eating places. We really enjoyed the house for our family retreat. Everything was clean, spacious and the owners helpful. Thank you so much for a great vacation.

Beautiful farmhouse in perfect location just above St Ives

Our party was 3 generations plus dog & we all had a fantastic holiday in this very comfortable house perfectly situated for trips to anywhere in south Cornwall & beautiful countryside walks. Friendly owners on hand if needed. Just found HomeAway a difficult company to deal with - this does not reflect on Hendra Farmhouse or hinder our enjoyment of the holiday.

A little slice of Cornish heaven

This is a wonderful farmhouse in a great location for anyone who wants to enjoy the countryside as much as the coast. It was lovely to wake to the dawn chorus and a view of the fields. The farmhouse is wonderfully comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, cosy beds and comfy sofas. Our hosts were great, so friendly, on hand to help but not intrusive. Thanks for having us and we hope you’ll have us to stay again!

Beautiful home in perfect location

The farmhouse is lovely and beautifully equipped. Plenty of corners to sit and relax. A lovely garden for when the sun shines. A 20 minute walk down to St Ives so no need to take the car, which is a big plus. A lovely quiet location but with easy access to all that the lovely coast offers. We had a lovely time.

First impressions WOW,

WOW, what a gorgeous property, it was bigger and more open plan than the photos portrayed, very much a homely feel to it. The kitchen with the uninterrupted views to the garden were lovely. Everything you needed in a kitchen was here & more. Lounge/dining area was more than ample and very comfortable, utility room was a great addition, well equipped. Bedrooms/bathrooms more than adequate in size & numbers. Grandson commandeered the trampoline, play/pool/toy room was a great area for him, toys, puzzles, books. It was great place to come back to after a long day at the beach or a day sightseeing. Would I come back to Hendra, definitely, it was a privilege to stay there, whole family loved it, thank- you. We booked this house for a family holiday with our three grown up boys and our grandchild. The house was absolutely perfect - lots of space so we were all able to have fun together but also lots of little areas to chill quietly. There has been a lot of attention to detail - beautifully furnished and has a real seaside feel. The kitchen was well equipped and cooking with the family to help was a joy!! It was helpful that bin bags, tin foil, herbs and spices etc. were available so that made cooking extra easy. Thank you for such a memorable holiday 😊🏖

Perfect house!

This house was perfect for our holiday, great location for getting into St Ives, especially with the dog. Could have asked for more with the house. Plenty room, great garden and more than enough things to do like table tennis and pool! Couldn’t recommend more!

Wonderful cosy farmhouse

This was a family Christmas for us and it was the ideal house to spend time together in as it had all the home comforts, was exceptionally well equipped and we were able to build a log fire every evening and sit around playing games. The various rooms meant that we had a lot of space for us all to do different things and we even used the outdoor trampoline when we had fine weather. The location is good being only a half hour walk to St Ives if you don't want to take the car and there is lots of good walking and a nature reserve in the immediate area, so great for dogs too. We all had a really good time and it will probably will be remembered as the best Christmas ever!
