My husband and I stayed here for 3 weeks to work remotely. The set-up for remote work was fantastic. The WiFi was strong and there were extenders. At times, both my husband and I were on Zoom calls at the same time and had no issues. There is even an office with legal books on the shelf for the perfect "I'm not on a tropical island" background. The WiFi went out twice, but only for a few minutes, which is impressive. There is also a generator that quickly kicks on when the power goes out.
The house itself is well cared for and has an amazing view, which we enjoyed daily. Hull Bay Beach is a 12min walk down the road, which we walked in the mornings for our pre-work aerobic workouts. The uphill parts are intense. Don't expect to stroll to the beach - take your car. Since the house is so centrally located on the island, it doesn't take long to go anywhere. We always joked that everything took about 20 minutes.
Although others talked of road noise, we didn't experience that. The house is on a residential street and there wasn't much traffic. However, the noise problem comes from the local roosters, which sometimes started as early as 2am. Even with earplugs and white noise apps - they definitely woke you up. The house has central air, but the owner who lives on the first floor controls the unit. Even though the temperature was perfect for the 3 weeks we were there and we didn't need to turn on the AC - having the ability to do so at 3am to possibly drown out the rooster noise would have been nice. The current procedure involved contacting the property manager, who would then contact the owner to turn it on.
I do want to mention that the house was stocked with many staples that other rentals don't provide. We had toilet paper, paper towels, drinking water, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, garbage bags, k-cups, etc. to get us through 3 weeks. It was truly a nice touch.
We enjoyed our stay and want to thank Pat and Karin for their hospitality.
