What an amazing special property! My family and I had a great retreat getaway. Everything was very clean, and the property was very peaceful. We had plenty of room and there was so much character at the Stonehouse. I would Highly recommend it!

Stone House is a beautiful building on great grounds that has hiking trails right outside the door. Our dog Pippi had a great time! The layout is eccentric with two bedrooms right off the first floor entry. Primary bedroom has a comfortable elevated four poster bed with a fireplace, wet bar, and a sitting area, for a relaxing morning read. Across the hall is a massive luxury bathroom, with an oversized jetted tub and a spacious walk in shower. Downstairs has a kitchen and Dining room with a Harry Potter theme reading room under the stairs. Upstairs is a huge bedroom with 2 beds for the kids and a comfortable family room with a nice flat screen, plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a movie. Close to everything and Mystic Pizza II is right down the road for great food. We brought our Great Pyrenees and she loved sniffing around the yard, trails, and fields.

Beautiful home, and lovely host. She was thoughtful, accommodating and a pleasure. Definitely had a spa like feel and you can even order services to the house. Great for a girls weekend. Be aware the kitchen is in the basement which worked out fine for us but flagging for anyone with a mobility issue. There is also just one full bathroom if thats on your radar. Other than that the outdoor space is lovely and you drive up to a beautiful stone cottage. Great vibe!

Property is very well kept, but there are minor details that need to be remedied to have it earn 5 stars. First, it is listed as 1 and a 1/2 bath, this is simply not accurate. There was one full bath, which was exceptional, but then there was a sink in the master bedroom and an outside shower. A half bath implies a toilet. Fix the listing. One toilet for 7-8 people, not ideal. That was the major issue we had. The other items we could work around - no pot holders or trivets (if there were, we couldn’t locate them. No beverage glasses, only wine and coffee mugs. Another item worth mentioning was the placement of the tv in the grand room on the second floor. It should be moved to the corner and angled so those on the couch can see without a full turn of the head. Also, current placement of the tv makes watching during the morning hours impossible due to the sun glare from the beautiful window (that is shadeless).The last item worth mentioning is the sink in the master bedroom, while looking quite beautiful, was simply impractical and essentially non functional. If it is there only for water use (to drink), then put a sign - as there was no practical way to wash one’s face or brush one’s teeth. Please know we mention these things to make your VRBO listing the true exception that the house could be. Otherwise a very nice stay for our long weekend getaway.
